I try to give my characters real names. I know, shocking.
That’s exactly how I came up with my name!
Sometimes it’s my real name
Sometimes it’s my go-to video game character name (that I use for single player games and any online game where it isn’t taken)
Sometimes it’s a random word - translated into another language if necessary (I browse languages to find one that I like the sound of)
Sometimes it’s a dumb portmanteau, like this character. Divination + Action --> Divinaction
I thought long and hard about my name.
I just do whatever I think fits or sounds nice lol
Marzannie is based off of Morana, Slavic goddess associated with winter’s death and rebirth and dreams which seemed fitting for a forsaken.
I have a demon hunter named Dialen (goat lady demons)
And shirley for a Vulpera based on courage the cowardly dogs shirley the medium lol

This now makes me wonder, do you have a Paladinb and Paladinc? 
I wanted a tree name. This was the closest that was available.
All kinds of things. Random science words like Fungi and Telescope. Old norse names. Names of H.P. Lovecraft characters. Names of my own characters from my writing. A few names that reference something or someone I like.
Those last ones I usually change though, joke names wear off moreso than regular names for me. I’ve had a few good ones over the years, obscure references that got me a few whispers even, but only my mechagnome still has one of those names because, hey, he’s a gnome, and though I like them I can never take them even a tiny bit seriously.
Well lately I’ve been leveling up a number of Maghar Orcs. I chose to use Savage as a theme to name them.
My favorite one so far is Savageoutlaw for my outlaw rogue.
Kinda depends on the character. Most of mine I just made up at the time. This character the name Celeste was already taken so… Cilest. Ended up naming my dog that name. I have a Night Elf named Dranna if I could spell it correctly would be D’Ranna.
Some were made with a name generator, if I did not like what was coming up, I combined them. I have a Dark iron Dwarf named… I will have to post on him, I can’t spell or pronounce it. Random name generator FTW I guess.
As said… I can’t pronounce this name…
Haha! Not the first time this has come up, I do not have a Paladin B, there is however a Paladinb on the forums somewhere, and I designated him as my official backup. 
You go on Random Name Generator and you choose whatever name that sounds epic to your character. Your own OC.
Well, I roleplay my characters, so I take some thought into the backstory and how the theme works.
Though TBH I’m on Moon Guard, chances are a majority of them took a hearty rip from their vape before coming up with their name <_<
