So the Dalaran Hearthstone toy doesn’t work unless you’ve completed “In the Blink of an Eye” on that character. I’m not able to start Legion Timewalking for the quest to pop up because I’m too high level. I tried flying outside the gate to talk to Holgar Stormaxe hoping he’d offer the quest or a dialogue option but no dice. I tried talking to the inkeeper in Dalaran Legerdemain Lounge but instead of a dialogue option to receive the purple Dalaran hearthstone, she changed my existing one.
Does anyone know how to make the toy usable? It just says “You can’t use that right now” unless you’ve received the physical item

Take the prepatch portal next to the capital AH to get to Dalaran, talk to the innkeeper in center of the city. Hearthstone usable.
The key is actually getting Kirin Tor rep unlocked. I’ve been able to do it by talking to other Kirin Tor npcs but it’s slower to find them and think the ones in the portal rooms will only talk to mages.
doesnt it start in sw castle? then to karazhan. then to dalaran
View a mission board, choose Broken Shore.

Also get it from doing legion starting questline. Once you get to dalaran and finish the quest it works as well.

Go to the mission board in SW or Org.
It should give you the option for the Legion campaign. If you go to talk to the NPC on the docks(SW) or blockade(Org) and you’ve done it before on an alt then you can use the i’ve heard this story before option to skip the intro questline and get ported straight to Dal. BE CERTAIN to turn in the quest in Dalaran and it’ll unlock the ability to use the dal hearthstone.
