How do YOU look for a Guild?

Sooooooooooooo… I have an alt that I want to raid and do M+s again on. I haven’t raided seriously since Uldir BFA, normal, then heroic. BFA was also the last time I was really into M+s even thought I dabbled in them since.

I first looked in Recruitment, and found lots of Mythic Guilds. I’m not good enough nor have the patience for that. So I tried to look on then the WOW forums under Realm to find something on my very populated realm. Five posts in, I’m at 17 days since last post. I looked at Guild finder, and I just feel like I don’t want to apply without a relatively deep discord/bnet discussion before I leave my current guild. :woman_shrugging:

The question is how DO YOU LOOK for a guild to get a good fit. It’s not how did you find your current guild… The difference is subtle, but there.

Just like my monk mount says “The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is now.”
But really that’s just me rubbing it in that I haven’t needed to find a guild in about 15 years.

I sort of do the same thing. < I am Groot > - Kel’Thuzad & < Weirding Way > - Tichondrius are mine… I always come home… :house_with_garden:

I didn’t look for one I made my own.

If you really want to find a guild do what I do, play the game.

Found all of my guilds by going into a M+/Raiding group and outperforming everyone. Got an invite that way.

lmao.

The guild recruitment discord is going to be your best bet.

I was invited to my current one by an RL friend, been in it for at least 10 years. That’s why if the guild stops raiding, I will stop raiding also for the remainder, I won’t really try to pug unless I really want a trinket or something. I don’t find the raids fun on their own, it has to be with a guild in voice otherwise it’s kinda boring.

But if I ever want into a Mythic guild, I’m gonna just start straight up asking people. I inspect people who are in Mythic gear all the time, all you have to do is open up a dialogue with them. I just don’t because I’m not ready for that level of gaming lol.

I mean according to an addon I have 624 DAYS played, which excludes my other two accounts, my time in Classic WOW, so I DO “play the game”

They have a section that’s for only aotc/normal guilds and would be a good place to start.

You can also post in the lfg section and guilds can see your character and message you about it.

I looked through the Guild Recruitment screen in game but it took awhile because there are so many dead guilds or inactive ones. Jumped from one guild to the next till I found one that clicked and the people were chill and doing the same content I wanted to do. Make sure you state your goals/class/spec and possibly even reach out to the guild leaders/people directly. Best time to look for a guild is early pre season or pre expansion imo. Dont be afraid to drop and look for something that suits your needs and somewhere you will be able to contribute properly to the type community they are trying to have.

I kinda fluked into finding a cool group of folks as they were and just roll with that, basically made sure they had similar goals (aotc m+) and a fairly active discord/vibe check.

Thanks Snozy, I just joined!

It’s problematic to say the least!

Usually I start by pugging raids, and often times I get invited to come back and then just become part of the team lol.

Any time. Good luck on your search.

Friends find a guild, I follow them

I cannot be bothered at all

Follow Snozy’s suggestion and use the recruitment discord.

This is how our guild gets a lot of people. They came as frequent pugs. Lots of friends of friends also.

It really was. Like guild recruitment posts in there should just be removed after like 30-60 days ( with a button for guild leaders to easily refresh it for another 30/60 days ). If you use it spam like every guild you are interested in and just wait and you will have some to chose from after a bit. That is kinda what I did and “shopped” around till I found something that I liked.
