How do you know if you're doing a side quest or campaign in the older expansions?

In Dragonflight, campaign quests are denoted by the shield symbol. I’m trying to level an alt in Legion and if I’m not mistaken, the older expansions just have the ‘!’ sign only for all quests.

That’s a good question. Some quests do in fact require ALL of them before the next quest opens up, sometimes its as straightforward but some aren’t. There’s no current icon that would detail that this is a Main or Side Quest for older expansions.

At least…not to my knowledge, all I know is ever since 10.1.5, I’m seeing all of the trivial quests anywhere besides my current location and yet to see anything standing out like what we see in Dragonflight.

Unfortunately nothing in-game to help with this.

I use a website (like wowhead) open in a window so I can look them up.

Maybe there is an addon that can help? Sort of like Azeroth AutoPilot…

If I recall, don’t campaign quests have the orange “!”, while ordinary quests have the yellow “!” and dailies have the blue “!”?
