Question in the title above. I really loved discipline's atonement healing style the last few expansions on a casual level, and I absolutely love love LOVE the idea behind the Legion change. But honestly I've been a bit afraid to try my hand at discipline. I'm pretty lightweight when it comes to addons- recount, needtoknow, a few pvp addons. There aren't really any interface options to keep track of Atonement on all my raid/party atonee's and the few times I've logged on to my disc it seems like beyond me and my focus target, I'm either losing heals because I let atonement fall of for precious seconds or refreshing it way too much out of fear it'll fall off because I just can't see the dang buff. I'm not interested in any addons that completely change my ui; a decade of wow has me set in my ways. But I would be thriled to hear how ya'll handle the problems, and some hopefully lightweight addons to make this doable :)
Thank you priest community!
Shadowed Unit Frames (a.k.a ShadowedUF) has options to filter buffs on party/raid frames and make the ones you cast larger. I use this to have larger Atonement icons on my frames, and ShadowedUF buff/debuff icons have built-in timer-wheels on them to indicate remaining duration.
Unit Frame Addons:
Grid2
Vuhdoo
Healbot
ElvUI
Any custom unit frame addon has the ability to track who has Atonement.
WeakAura:
I also use a WeakAura to track the total amount of Atonement's in the raid.
Atonement Tracker + Plea Tracker | https://wago.io/Eyvqyfcv-
Other Add-on's:
AtonementBar | https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/atonementbar
I haven't tested this yet, but intend to tonight. It seems like a good tool to track how many Atonement's are in the raid and when they are going to fall off. Personally, I don't see a need for it but I can see how some could benefit.

Thanks guys! I'll test those over the weekend, and hopefully find one I like :)
The default raid UI (which can be used for party frames as well) tracks it as a frame icon. That's all I use.
Am i the only one who just uses the default UI? I can see who has atonement and the duration fine on the current raid profiles
and if i need to see the exact number i have out i look at the number on plea

I like atonement assist for ease of use. It's one of those install and forget type of things that works with the default UI. Great if you don't want to spend an hour fiddling with something. Install add on, disable raid frames in the default UI, done. Now everyone with atonement applied will have a bright green frame around their health bar.
On the flip side its not customizable at all. So you pick, quick and simple, or complicated and versatile.

Default UI
I agree the default UI works great keeping track of atonement and dispells for that matter.
Atonement Tracker. Best I have seen since you can see who has it and the amount of time left. Easily moved to a location that you like.
Elvui and Weak Auras. Haven't looked back.
Raid up and clique.
Weak auras.
Macros.
To do disc right you HAVE TO use other things other than the ui to make the spec work.

I use grid. i have it set to turn the player frame solid green with the atonement icon in the center. As long as I have green player frames I know exactly who I'm healing. I use a mouseover macro for plea and it's become very easy to pass out the atonement buff. I'm sure there are plenty of easy ways to do the same thing but this was fairly easy to set up.
Default UI here. I had to make it so I have raid frames always, but yes, that's what does it for me. The built in atonement tracker on raid frames is satisfactory enough for me. I am also someone who doesn't partake in too many addons. MSBT, and Quartz being the two big ones. Other than that, your usual Skada, and some cosmetic ones because I get bored with things like my map and such. But yes, as someone above said, default UI with raid frames at all times for 5 mans and such
I disagree with this. The only thing I would say that you need (or at least that I would highly recommend) would be mouse over macros. The other things? If you wish to have them because you feel it would make your life easier, then go for it. But is it necessary? No. That said, there is nothing wrong with experimentation.

This
my eyes.
Vuhdo to heal and to track atonement (as well as other buffs/debuffs I may need to see.)
Weak Auras to see how many atonements I have out at any given time (because I don't feel like counting the little icons on Vuhdo.)

I find the default UI perfectly sufficient at displaying Atonement. If you need to know how many active Atonements you have, just look at your Plea button.
okay, so about a decade of WoW and I never knew you could use raid framed for party useage. Now that I know THAT, atonement is useable to me again in 5mans XD guess that's what I get for maining a lock haha :)
Thanks guys ^^
