How do you join +10s

So I lvled an alt to 372 ilvl.
I tried to join a +10. I linked cutting edge and noticed that every time I link cutting edge I almost always don’t get to join the group.

But on the other hand, when I don’t link anything, I’m more likely to get selected to join the group. At least more often than when I did link.

Is this some new pervasive culture of people purposely not selecting people who link stuff? I know it’s your key and all that, but jeez what else do you need to join a pug 10?

Cutting Edge means nothing in M+

Linking cutting edge instantly lets the party know you shouldn’t be invited because you don’t know anything about m+

cutting edge has nothing to do with m+

Then what should I link instead?
I’m under the impression that cutting edge indicates the player has a certain level of skill and would generally be good enough for a +10.

And to be fair, I have done all my +10s on the main.

honestly? nothing

the group leader is likely being innundated with people linking various achieves. it’s kind of obnoxious when putting together a group. linking your alt to your main using raiderio would give group makers far more applicable information about your m+ experience.

but that’s just my .02. other people might not be bothered by achievement linking.

Lol ok. So looks like linking cutting edge means you aren’t good enough for m+
And if you dont’ link anything you’re not good enough because there’s no history on your raider io.

Great…

I wouldn’t link anything. Raid achievements mean nothing in dungeons, and there’s not really anything you can link that would be useful. You could note that you’ve timed this specific dungeon on similar affixes several times, and point them at your raiderio profile, but honestly if they want to key it they probably use the raiderio addon anyways.

At the end of the day, it’ll come down to how your competition is for your role, and whether they desire a specific setup or not.

The Raider io addon shows a “mains score” when you hover over your alts name in the group finder. Most pugs want 900-1000 io score for +10s. Does your main have that?

Your main has a good M+ history. Get your alt(s) up to at least 200 score and sync your account so you can link your alts to your main. Then when someone looks you up, they can see you have that history(or if they’re just relying on the numbers in the tooltips, they can see that 859 main score).

  1. Cutting edge = RAID achievement. Not Mythic+. Just cause you killed Mythic G’hunnn doesn’t mean your automatically good for dungeons. It shows you got 20 people together and killed G’huun. That’s it. Dungeons are completely different and you need to link a +15 M+ achievement for that.

  2. Be a tank or healer.

Make your own group then you don’t have to deal with anything like not getting accepted?

I don’t use raider io because frankly I never had issues with a group. This is a new experience for me pugging. I’m not saying raider io is bad. But I definitely see the frustration of “trying to be a casual but play on a high level.”

Make a group for a +10 and you’ll understand as you get linked 63838 things from the 6389392003 dps who applied in 30 seconds.

Usually helps to link a real or completed achievement though. Just saying…

Anyone with raider io addon installed will already see your pve progression, so linking that is useless.

But the answer is very easy to that question… level your own key.

I don’t invite people to my group if they link irrelavent achivements. Plus, all achivements can be fake or bought.

The answer to your question, OP, and really the only answer that should be given is: you should complete a +9 of said dungeon on time. That’s the only way to demonstrate you are prepared for the next stage. Maybe you can get away with a +10 invite having only completed a +8. If you are mythic geared maybe you can away with +7. But you need to be showing people that you have successfully completed the same key on a reasonably similar difficulty level. It’s not rocket science

Let me make it as clear and simple as i possibly canm because this seems to be an ongoing issue both in the game and on the forum.
Would you let me into your mythic raid core team if i had absolutely no raid experience, or very minimal raid experience? If i had no logs to back me up? If all I had was a 372 item level and nothing else to show for it but my 1200 raider io score?
Of course you wouldnt. Even pugging a mythic raid, they want, what? They want me to link something or to see my logs that pertain to direct raid experience for the content I am applying.
Why the heck would i invite someone to my dungeon that does not have relevant experience?
And you dont need to link anything, because any respectable mythic + group leader will have the addon already

The answer to the OP’s question is very simple. Stop believing you are entitled to do +10s on an alt because you have completed them on your main. I’m sorry but because you can dps on a DH does not mean that you instinctively know how to play a BM Hunter. I have main tanked since Wrath of the Lich King, completed several keys of 10 and higher; however, if I level a healer alt I wouldn’t be able to complete a +2 in time because I am a horrible healer. But according to your logic, because I have a main that has completed +10s, I am instantly entitled to run +10s on every alt i make.

The PuG group needs and uses raider io extensively. Best to get ahead of it, work your main to get the best score you can (identify which dungeons you could work on to improve it) and then link your alts.

The only thing that really matters in M+ is your ability in M+, hence raider io.
