How do you healers sim your character?

I was wondering how you healers go about choosing between different pieces of gear or trinkets. As retribution I can simply sim different pieces and see what pieces yield different results for different encounters. Usually this isn’t an issue if the ilvl is vastly different, then you generally just choose the higher ilvl gear or trinket.
However, currently I have 3 trinkets that are 200 ilvl and one that is 194. Now I know that whichever one I choose is probably going to make a small difference, but a difference nonetheless.
Also, in case you’re wondering, the trinkets in question are as follows:

  1. Sinful Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity (200 ilvl)
  2. Darkmoon Deck: Repose (200 ilvl)
  3. Sunblood Amethyst (194 ilvl)
  4. Boon of the Archon (200 ilvl)

I also have some lower ilvl trinkets that I doubt would “sim” higher if I was able to. But how do you go about confirming? Or figuring out which one is better?

A lot of the free resources (simcraft, raidbots) don’t have the option to sim healers… As a disct priest, I just changed specs to shadowpriest since we have the same stat priority. Idk if the stats of the different specs of pal match, but you could try that?

AskMrRobot has a very in-depth healer simulator. I’ve been using it for years and highly recommend it.

Interesting, I just used it and it says my two lowest trinkets are better. I’m going to have to test it in a raid setting I suppose. I did compare the results for dps with simulationCraft and interestingly enough, in practice, AMR seems to actually have increased my dps by quite a bit when compared to simc. But it deviates from everything I thought was my priority stat and whatnot.

Healers have a dedicated theorycrafter and he built a website to be able to determine our gear, it’s called Questionably Epic.

Your best trinkets for raid are the pvp trinket and darkmoon deck. For m+ it’s probably the pvp trinket and sunblood.
