Every day I play this game I can’t get out of my head that I missed out on the mage tower appearance. I have the fel variant but it feels like a poor imitation, I have a constant sense of regret for not doing whatever it took to get that skin at the time. I know it’s dramatic but it haunts me and I don’t know how to move past it. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it?

It’s just like in real life you move on or take this L become more motivated to get it witch makes it add more value to you .

I look at like this. Hunters today will not be able to complete the Rhok/Lhok quest. It is the same thing. It is gone.
I wasn’t able to play a lot during Legion when the MT was around. I wasn’t able to get the form when it was relevant. Blizzard came out with the stance that it will never be available again regardless of the years of posts begging for it. Blizzard split the difference and offered a new version without going back on what their original stance. Be grateful that you had the opportunity to obtain it even though it is not the original version.
It is a reward, not a right.

I’m not asking for the form, I’m trying to get over not having it.
Ha wish this were possible. But yeah I want to move on I’m just trying to get unbothered by that nagging voice I get every time I see someone else with the form

Yeah I don’t know, I’m still ticked that Ferals get locked out of probably the best form in the game by far because of FOMO, and they sure haven’t bothered to give any new forms for 2, and now potentially 3 expansions if none get added in for Dragonflight.
I also send a message in the in-game support box to bring back Mage Tower appearances pretty much every day I log in to the game, because I personally believe it’s stupid to lock out customization on a spec/class that has barely 5% of the customization choices everyone else gets when you’re virtually always in form as a Guardian or Feral.

Honestly? I have all 4 reg werebear forms and the new one. They seem low Res and Boring to the Felbear. Even then, he is starting to lose his luster.

I get the same feeling for the pandaria challenge mode xmog set. I got it on my hunter and didnt want to do it a second time to get the druid set. I stopped maining the hunter in legion and have mained the druid since. ( got all the mage tower appearences though ;D )
But still regret never getting the druid set.
I prefer the fel bear. It speaks more to the skill of the user when I see it vs the original forms.
Legion mage tower was essentially a freebie towards the end. It didn’t require skill to complete. Fel bear does. It’s a visual testament to the user skill as a player.
I don’t loose sleep over the old forms.

Iv both, with the exception of the rated BG pvp bear color the newer one looks better IMO but is harder to obtain - which is a bit annoying sense you can no longer get the old ones making it feel a bit like a cop out.

Yeah I’m trying to maintain a mindset of looking forward and hoping something I like better will come in the future, but there’s no foundation for that hope. It took them like 15 years to add a bear form the first time, and they locked the best ones behind a limited time curtain. I’d really like some dragon themed forms though.
I’m not really interested in demonstrating my skill outside of my gameplay. I just wanna like the way I look.

This wouldn’t be an issue if they released new forms more often… but they do it once every 10 years.
It’s not like we missed a transmog that’s one of hundreds other classes can get. We are locked out of ~20% of the forms that you can get as a Druid and they happen to be the best ones bliz ever made.

Before Legion I played alot more games other than WoW (and thus didn’t play most of the Legion xpac, missing out on the cool forms). I can say that by creating a limited-time thing that was really cool, they did manage to pull me into the game even more. Many businesses do this, and it is called good marketing. Love it or hate it, WoW is a business first and foremost. It may have started out as just a bunch of guys playing table-top DnD for fun but it has moved far past that in today’s version.
I jumped back into WoW in BFA, and have mostly only been playing that ever since, hoping that they will either bring back the MT forms, or create some new ones that are just as good. I do take breaks from WoW every now and then but I try to stay abreast of the news of what is going on so that I don’t miss out on cool stuff like that anymore.
Who knows, they did end up bringing back the Mage Tower bear form (with different coloring). Maybe they will do the same for the Feral form.

I think they design limited time FOMO under the impression that there is no downside. There definitely is. The less a player has invested in the game, the more likely they are to say, “screw this” and leave before you ever realized they were there.

NO ONE has ever asked for it be handed out for free. NO ONE.
Everyone who wanted Mage Tower to come back, wanted a fair chance at getting it.
ANd let’s be friggin’ real here for a second, the VAST majority of players who completed MT, completed it in last 3 weeks of the expansion, at which point MT was like cutting through warm butter due to all borrowed power and simply being an entire gear tier higher.
Even the Mage Tower we got today is A LOT harder due to lack of borrowed power. And if anything, TW MT has only proven how broken some specs are in the game.
And all those defending MT being time limited event are under their impression its THEIR RIGHT to be unique owners and do not treat it as a REWARD.
So yes, indeed, it should be a reward and not a right, but today, it’s the opposite. It is the RIGHT to have OG MT apps and not a reward simply due to the fact some of us were born later.

I think a big thing to do would be for them to release more stuff. limited time stuff is cool and all, but when the only awesome forms in the game are locked away, it kind of sucks.

We wanted an equal version of 7.2 patch.
It has been stated by many veterans multiple times hat TW MT is in fact harder than it was in 7.2
Nonetheless, to address your comment, how first quote leads into 2nd, those 2 are not correlated. One talks about today’s playerbase, other one addresses what happened in the past to another group of players.
Players wanted a replicated challenge, to make it fair. Not an easier version, nor the harder one like we got. Not to mention, we got harder version with much crappier rewards. I got my bear and I can’t even bother getting sets as they all look like crap, to me, and the only decent one is Lock, but I don’t play locks.
