I came back from a break since my guild died after getting CE Sylvanas and now I’m trying to find a guild, which is like applying for a job btw, and no one accepts my application. I figure it’s because I’m only 259 ilvl with no tier and don’t have any experience in the new raid - that’s fine, I get it.
But now I can’t even get into heroic raid pugs. I can probably get into normal but I don’t need any gear from normal - I won’t be able to progress really. Then I try to apply for a 15 key (automatic decline ok that’s fine I’ll start lower), then a 12 key (automatic decline), an 8 key (decline after like 15 seconds), and then a 5 key which surprisingly was a decline as well. I genuinely don’t know if they just wanted a shaman healer instead of my priest or what. I even mention that I get KSM every past season and I’m still getting declined. I guess I could start at the very bottom again with a +2 but is it even worth it?
I just give up, this is the most demoralizing thing ever in this game lmao
You log in, go here and there, get bombarded with “wanna join our guild” whispers, do couple of F2L2 antorus, climb a mountain called loremaster for a bit whose peak is filled with people that got the achievement in wrath when it wasn’t as time consuming, then log out.
Everyone eventually learns no one cares what you did in the past. It is all about “What have you done for me lately?” and “What can you bring for me right now?”. This is true for any group activity with competitive elements.
You will have to develop new relationships on top of spending a lot of time getting experience and optimizing your character. It isn’t fun and it is very time consuming so you have to decide if it is worth it.
Welcome to World of Ion. Its his game now. We’re all just trying to keep standing it till he finally decides to go back to his old job and let more creative minds take the helm
You resub to the game, find out the community is still toxic and gatekeepy. Try to unlock flying and get your renown up to get catchup gear, run every dungeon on M0 to relearn them, spend 3 hours in LFG for a +2 because your fake internet score is low and you aren’t a meta class, decide to farm mounts but they still have a 7 day lockout for some reason even being 10 years old.
Then you give up, open netflix, go to bozjan and keep grinding your relic weapon.
You’re not going to get into any pugs with a 205 item level. Also you haven’t even touched Sanctum of Domination, let alone Sepulcher, even on LFR (At least on your forum character). As for Mythic+, if you apply as a DPS, you’ll be competing against many other DPS, and there are only 3 DPS slots per group.
Maybe put 2+2 together and realize he’s not talking about the character he posts on?
Only with raids. Raiders have so many hoops to jump through to get into raid groups and keep a roster they put up with players they don’t like and only look at it as other players being a means to an end.
With M+, a buddy of mine decided he doesn’t want to push keys this season. No harm no foul - we’ll find someone else in the meanwhile, but in the short-term I wish him luck in his push for glad and for completing more of the Mage Tower.
Alliance-side is so toxic. Everyone good has gone Horde and many of the remaining Alliance players substitute toxicity for lack of skill. It’s gross TBH. I’m so glad to be taking a break from raiding because Alliance raid guilds and also Alliance M+ are actually quite sad.
Looking forward to 9.2.5 for sure when hopefully things will balance back out.
Mythic+ pugging is going to be a lot of declines, especially if you’re running as a dps. You may see less if you’re going as a tank or healer.
Remember, there’s a lot of dps, so chances are they’re going to take the higher ones that apply which may not be you. If 15 dps apply to a group, only 3 are going… The chances of a decline are reasonably high.
Finding a raiding guild, that surprises me a bit, but given I don’t deal with alliance nor do I know what server you’re on, maybe what you’re experiencing isn’t unheard of. If you’re willing to transfer servers, that may open up your options. Might be worth eyeballing the ‘guild recruitment’ section on the forums if that is the case… Maybe you’ll have a bit better luck.
