Forgive me, for I haven’t done it, but it seems to be partly a “don’t be out of position” debuff with an effect to make it a little harder to be precise, no? The guide I saw said to aim the icicle at a rock wall if possible. I’m not sure what happens if there’s no rock wall, but I’m assuming the worst case scenario is you slipping into a bad spot and either pulsing on your friends or getting them icicled.
Often the worst thing you can do with something that can be “run through raid” is unpredictable movement. If it’s a standard thin line of bad and you remain motionless, 19 other people can sidestep it in a instant. If you run back and forth, you’ll risk getting people killed.
Again, idk what happens if you don’t direct icicles into rock walls. Personal death is still preferable to getting others killed, though.
The trick here is to know when it’s coming. When the gaols break, it will hit soon- get next to a wall fragment and wait to see if you’re the lucky one. If you are, you only have to slip and slide a few steps. If you’re not the one with icy feet, start heading to the midline because it will be time to switch sides soon. Just make sure you don’t get between the player with the slippy slide feet and the icicle .
