How do you do it leveling new characters?

I only have my 1 character at 120. I find leveling so boring. I tried leveling a lightforged Draenei paladin to see what it would be like to be a lightforged Draenei and I gave up at about level 30 because it was just too boring. Seemed very tedious and something I wouldn’t want to do since I leveled to 120 before with this character.

I also used a boost on a Draenei hunter because it was free with the expansion but I got 5 levels to 115 and same thing happened it was just so boring I could not continue to 120.

It wasn’t that bad until they did the exp nerf and dungeon nerf. I was an altoholic before and now I hate it because how slow it is. It’s not fun at all.

I find its easier to level when you just don’t think about the game or pay much attention to it.

Throw up some netflix or something to distract you from the fact you’re leveling in WoW.

well for me, the last time i leveled a character starting from level 1 all the way to level cap was in 2012 and i even used the RaF perks to do it on top of the heirlooms i had back then.

aside from my main which does pathfinder, WQ and other account wide unlocks, my alts have primarily got to level cap from the legion invasions, and now they are getting to 120 from the BfA invasions. also they get some exp from holiday event boss queues, and the easy-answer-a-question-daily during WoW anniversary week. once in awhile i’ll have lowbie alts do the cooking/fishing daily quests but less often now that the skill point rewards from them cap off at 300

I can’t even stand playing the content I was currently equipped for after coming back to see how things were. The game changed for the worse. Can’t imagine how bad it would be lvling from 110 to 120 or a fresh alt.

Using an addon like Azeroth Auto Pilot might help you. Won’t make it fun but it helps a little.

Get full set of Heirlooms. Also use draught of ten lands. you can use them on any level alt.

You level 3 characters at the same time, when one gets boring you jump on another. It also works great for farming mats as they supply each other and all your unwanted boe’s go to the one with enchanting to DE and in turn create enchants for the others.

I have 10 characters at level 120, going on 11 very soon. I have 17 characters, 12 Alliance and 7 Horde, that are at least level 110 or over. Then the rest which I play casually are at sporadic levels all over the place with a few as low at 8 up to the 74 and in between.

I speed level a lot, and am currently on a quest for 42 max level warriors, of which I have 24 currently. If you’ve used AAP, the 20-100 routes are mine.

why 42 warriors? why the number 42? Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy reference?

I find leveling alts and questing to be really relaxing. I enjoy the stories in the zones as well. Its just really chill to do.

you can easily do it while listening to a podcast or watching netflix or something on a second monitor. Get a glass of wine or some earl grey or something. Set up an episode of critical role, level an alt. Super chill evening. 10/10 would recommend.

I have 14 120’s currently, with several others at 111 to 112.

The thing for me is not to try to chain level them all at once and if I am feeling bored of leveling one way, to do something else.

For example, I often level classes with healing specs through dungeons, particularly during time walking since the end of dungeon xp bonus is exceptionally lucrative. I might run a few dungeons and get bored. So I put the character away and do something else. Other classes I will quest on and when I need a break from questing I’ll do pet battles for xp which I can do while watching some shows or movies.

There’s also times I just don’t feel like leveling at all so I work on the 120’s, getting them gear or rep, farming transmogs or mounts, etc.

Basically when you get bored of leveling, go do something else. You can always go back and finish leveling when you feel up to it. You aren’t obligated to get it done in any specified time frame. I will say I didn’t level most of those 120’s till AFTER we got the heirlooms to 120.

Level’ing is not hard at all from 110-120. You just have to be fast with your quests/abilities and it’s a breeze. Usually 85% of a bar per quest - I’m level’ing my 3rd 120 in this time

After having many toons at max level in the past having the skill set of a lower level is not appealing.

I like Random BattleGrounds. I used to do those.

It’s just not worth the money and time though. Too many alternatives and many are even free.

Leveling with some wine does sound really good

For my second 120 I did the other faction, so the leveling was different. For my third I mostly spammed time walking dungeons when they were up.

Haven’t really put any effort into leveling any more 110s yet and whenever I try starting at lvl1 or 20, I get bored pretty quick as well.

I enjoy leveling, but I can easily get burnt out on it if I do too much too quickly. I have one of each class, plus an Alliance Hunter, with only my Monk and Paladin left to hit 120.

I generally put on some music, watch some House, and sorta let myself relax and zen through bits when I just want make progress. Otherwise I get distracted doing other things.

I watch terribly awesome 80’s horror movies while I level.

It helps distract from the monotony.
