It’s no secret that for some odd reason simply enjoying DH means for some people that you must somehow be bad at the game and are told repeatedly that “your a demon hunter you have no right to say anything” So how do you people deal with it?
It’s a meme to hate on DH. Just ignore them.
DH is still a top pick for Mythic and Raids for a reason. If people had a real problem with us they wouldn’t invite us so often.
Given that such hatred is almost entirely borne of jealousy, I just laugh at it. I’m sorry your class can’t be as awesome as demon hunters, and you feel the need to shore up your ego with insults.
^ this
I wouldn’t even think twice about it. No matter what you do you will always have someone unhappy about something.
If their favorite class is #1 for every aspect of the game… they will complain, come to the forum and troll and do all that they can to get blizz to give in.
If you enjoy it… screw em and do what makes you happy… it is your $$
Haters gonna hate, and ain’ters gonna ain’t.
They hate us cause they ain’t us.
Ignore the whiners with hyperbolic and baseless complaints
I deal with it by /lol when im at the top of the meters and everyone else is dead from bursting and i didnt even realize it was a current affix.
OP was talking about demon hunters, not hunters hunters.
@OP: The people I play with like me. Why the crap should I care about a bunch of faceless sore losers think of me? And I played rogue for 14 years before switching mains. Rogues have been on the receiving end of plenty of hate over the years. I’m used to it. And also, don’t care. (See previous point.)
Also helps that Barrage is not the top pick for either spec even for AoE fights, and even if picked, isn’t used in single target. Barrage was the source of a LOT of hate back in WoD.
But ya, as Sienge noted, kinda a Demon Hunter thread.
I played Hunter before picking up DH as my new main. I got a LOT more hate as a hunter before even getting a chance to perform. Just ignore them and do what you do best…top the DPS meters.
People still give me “one button wonder” meme, but I just laugh at them while calling mechanics and still being top DPS on my guild raids.
Meh before DH hate it was DK hate…back in cata and mop The Meme back then for death Knights was just roll your face across the keyboard to get high numbers
I honestly want my own class nerfed, so that I stop getting whispers after every BG / world PvP fight.
You could go play something like an arcane mage if that’s the way you feel about it. Most of the rest of us like where Havoc is right now.
I mean, Havoc self sustain is too high to be honest…
I crush them on damage meters then tea bag their corpse after the boss dies because I can self sustain and they can’t.
Truth, but I honestly don’t notice it on either my rogue or DH unless I’m on the forums.
My guess is DHs basically got better since legion while every other class seems to have gotten more boring. Top it off with the fact that our glide ability is broken in terms of enjoy-ability until parthfinder part 2 and that our class can basically roll through all the boring content before other classes. Basically, if you just wanted to do the minimum and log off to wait for shadowlands, this class does this the best.
You’re supposed to say “I’ve sacrificed everything! What have you given?”
This sounds about right.
Excuse me … I need to go insult a random demon hunter to make up for my pathetic DPS output.
I don’t think it has anything to do with being bad at the game, but playing DH right now is like playing dk at early wrath or ret post dk nerfs. Havoc plays itself, with high damage, easy rotation and the high leech safety net. Ultimately, you can only screw up by bad positioning.
In unrated PvP, it is just the best class at the moment for solo PvP due to having pressure damage with defensive mechanics built into the PvE rotation. In rated, it is the only class that can actively attack the mana pool of a healer. Finally, if there is no LoS available, Rain from Above is a death sentence - and a joke, in a class that already has many amazing defensive measures -, and even if you manage to outrun its range, the DH has enough gap closers to prevent you from running away unless you are a druid.
