I start by hiding the helm and shoulders, pick pants, and disregard any robe.
For this toon, I always want an ensemble that would make Malfurion, Cenarius, and Malorne himself embarrassed to have me as one of their druids. When this toon was a night elf, I always had him in a cage helm, short shorts, and nip-slip leather straps for a top. Now as a Kul Tiran, his chest hair must be front and center at all times, and his helm and shoulders need to be wild and flamboyant enough to make the Proudmoores cringe that I am a very visible representative of their people.

I wanted to be dapper… thats about it
Sometimes you just gotta unzip and lay your e-peen onto the table.
I generally use your same thought process however…
My dh MOG (shown) has been the same since legion. I made it initially to possibly use in taliesin and evitels sh!tmog contest from their YouTube channel. Look it up if you wanna see some great commentary.
I ended up using my worgen instead but I came to love the ridiculousness that is this MOG here.
I have to build mine around one of three boring bloody fist weapons…
I’ve gotten lazy lately though (or is that hateful because I have to build around, you guessed it, one of three boring bloody fist weapons) so if it vaguely matches, I will go with it just for something a little different.
My favorite thing is trying to not look like my class.
(don’t do it. I know what you are about to reply with…)
I model most of my mogs based on a color, either to match a pet on hunters or to match a specific skimpy armor piece sometimes. I prefer blues but I’ve been goign for a few reds recently too with vulpera being a strong possibility
An amalgamation of the Dreadwyrm and Malevolent gladiator Death Knight set, the colors appear to compliment one and another.
I am still searching for a proper cape…
i wanted handsome merc look, but the guy you wanna approach just to pet his pet fox.
her names ashe and she loves to give kisses and nibble on bacon.
I like your mog a lot. Except the boots. I can never stand those over-sized manga boots. But on your mog, they’re almost okay.
He kinda looks like a grade-B wrestler.
Depends on my mood, and on the character. Sometimes I go full or almost full tier set (like on this character), on others like my shammy I mog to try and make her look more like a Wildhammer, on others I try to look very casual.
Avoid mashing together more than two sets, it’s quite a risk.
But there are some who manage to pull it off.
All he needs is a cheesy mask. I think the red and gold one would work.
i normally have a rule too make a mog fit together.
when making a mog, only 3 pieces from a set can only be active together in the transmog.
I usually start with an awesome hat and just go from there
Start with an extremely hard to get limited time achievement earned armor set then add salt.
I’m a practical guy so I go with a very militarized look. Nothing fancy, nothing flashy. Grunt with a bit of flair.
This is exactly what I do. Like this toon I wanted to go for a dashing highwayman sort of look. So I tried to build around that. I have a mage named Malin that I wanted to look at close as I could to him.
