I know this is a me issue, but I’m struggling with balancing everything I want to do in current WoW with real life responsibilities. It is absolutely a me problem, but I feel like the dial was turned to 11 with this patch.
Are the T2 updated models gone forever after this patch? Will this be looked back on like how mage tower currently is?
There a server of the sets that I want, 2 raids to progress, several 1800 PvP sets to earn, 2100 PvP weapon models, timewalking items etc.
A lot of these items are gone forever if you don’t earn them this season. I didn’t get the feral mage tower appearance and I’ve regretted ever since. I feel like I should grind out every thing available consistently now and idk how to do that without making WoW my second full time job.
What approach is everyone taking?

They’ve said that everything in this anniversary will return in future years.
Now whether that means they’ll be re-used for other events or whether this exact event will be the new standard that’s built on for future anniversary events is up in the air.

Um, the anniversary event is a few quests, that take maybe a couple hours at most, ONCE A WEEK. The dailies and stuff have nothing to do with the currency and are mostly for timewarped badges and levelling alts. You can only do the currency quests once per week. If you repeat them on an alt you won’t get any more currency…

Will that be enough for every set? I was under they impression that 30 was going to be the cap for week one, but I’ve found random quest here and there and I’ve made my way to 35 as of now.
It should be? It’s only 60 for the first set. Once you buy one, the price drops to 40. Once you buy two the price drops to 20.

Okay, this puts my mind and ease. Thank you
Yeah, it isn’t nearly as bad as it appears at first glance. Though I feel they could’ve communicated this better, and actually told people which quests they need to do to keep up to date on the currency.
But yes, if you’re only in it for the transmog sets, this is a weekly thing, not a daily thing.

Serious answer? I manage expectations.
Trading post is the best example. I know I can’t buy everything, it’s physically impossible after all. So I just prioritize one or two things I really like and then just ignore the stuff I don’t really care about.
I don’t bother grinding stuff I don’t want to do for cosmetics I have no intention of using.
Like you missed out on the Feral Mage Tower set? Sure that sucks, but is anything in this event as cool as that? Do you plan on playing a Mage any time soon? If you are are you likely to actually use those cosmetics? Or will they just sit in your collection gathering dust?
Because imma be real, most of the recoloured T2 sets are ugly as hell. They’re technically well done, but a lot of classic gear is just ugly and T2 is no exception. A high definition turd is still a turd.

As someone that was there the first time around, what I remember was everyone mocking those sets, esp my own, how we Warriors got “Pizza cutters.”
And yet now, I’m supposed to act like they were the greatest set put in the game. Like T3 doesn’t exist.
I’m also going to add a Hot Take: there’s a consensus that the Paladin T2 is the best thing ever … and I don’t understand this because it looks like a Warlock set to me! Never mind how it looks kind evil-spooky … but it’s CLOTH! Why would a Paladin think their best set is a CLOTH set???
I just don’t get any of this. lol
Give me the BWL WEAPONS as higher texture models, and then we’ll talk. Easily my favorite weapon models in the whole game.

The Warrior set is awful.
Judgement on the other hand…literally used as poster boy in all promotional material lol.
The new sets they made are amazing as well (DK, Monk).

Interesting take. I never got the vibe, my impression is that it looked closer to some of the extreme ornate setups that you see a lot of fantasy inquisitors (or non-Protestant) Priests wear IRL.
Too many swords, books and gold on it for me to say anything other than “yup, thats a paladin set”. But I’m not going to buy it regardless because I do not play Paladin and have no interest in playing Paladin in the future.

Seems to further my point when your comparison is also to … a Priest/cloth outfit.
Nothing about it looks like a PLATE set.
It looks like a Warlock set.
But I appreciate your feedback and opinion.

I really wish folks would understand how expensive hours really is. If you’re past 30, have a spouse, kids, family, friends, responsibilities, etc., hours is not a readily available commodity.
Bear in mind, if you’re the above, MMO’s probably aren’t for you. The point stills stands. No, hours are not cheap. If you have “hours upon hours” odds are you have nothing else going on.

I mean, if you can’t play a couple hours at most (that’s just the first time when I don’t know the quests, I can probably do them in 30 minutes once I figure the event out) once a week…then I’ll say yeah an MMORPG isn’t for you. That hypothetical person could log in every Saturday morning and knock anniversary stuff out before breakfast.
I agree, but I think Paladins can wear a little cloth, as a treat.

i choose not to feel “FOMO” so there’s nothing to balance for me. i get what i get, and anything else i just… don’t get. there’s no issue to resolve.

Exactly this for me.
I had to cross the “FOMO” bridge in first TBC when they introduced gladiator mounts then again in BfA for KSM mounts.
Neither activity interest me so I won’t ever get the rewards from it. OH WELL

No. They’ll be back every anniversary.
Obviously not.
