Make your character as fast as possible when we’re able to and pray you get your name.

Log in on the day of, to the Server you want, and create your character.
Thats what I figure anyway.
If you’re eager to claim your character name in WoW Classic, take note: we’ll be opening character creation on Tuesday, August 13.** Players with an active subscription or game time on their account will be able to create up to three characters per World of Warcraft account. We’ll have more information on realm names closer to launch, but rest assured—you’ll have plenty of time to figure out your plans for realm domination!

On August 12th @10pm UTC, realms will be available for you to log into. You’ll be able to create your character just like you do in Retail at that point, however the “Enter World” button will be greyed out and inoperable until August 26th @10pm UTC.
Last stress test they did a mini version of this, by opening the realms up 30 minutes early and letting us make characters, but not allowing us to enter the realm until the stress test started.

Yeah but getting realm names at the same time of reserving a name sucks. It’ll be a frantic search to find all the streamers realms so we can not go there.
That or make a char on every server then pick on once the streamers announce the ones they will be on.

This. Guilds actually need time to decide on a server, and since some people care about population, they might be looking to see what other guilds or players are doing.
