So let’s say like 20 people posted on forums about Wrath era. That’s 20 people. Fine. 30. Or 40. Heck. Fine 50. Make it 60. That’s still nothing. People screamed for Vanilla Era. And the outroar for Classic Era was HUGE. Wrath Era is nowhere near it. And yet, it was DOA. Literally people said only 2-3 guilds stayed behind.
Something like reddit is probably a better place, as usually 100’s of people participate in said discussions and top comments reach 600+ upvotes and it’s a much better metric than forums.
Blizzard can also see if you’re using multiple alts to post same thing. Something like this does more harm than good.
Recognize that the forums alone are a very tiny fraction of the community, so the “mass outcry” is barely a blip on the radar
Put all your concerns into one thread. A single thread with thousands of posts sends a much better message than a dozen threads with a handful of posts of the same 3 people agreeing with each other, and the same 3 people telling them to stop spamming
Who knows? They may. I haven’t seen anything stating that they absolutely wouldn’t. All we really have to go on is that there are no TBC Classic servers, which I suppose isn’t nothing! But, we’ll see, I guess.
It’s like the same 50 people out of like 2 millions subs. They hear you. You aren’t profitable. There won’t be Wrath servers. They could consider 1 server but even then it wouldn’t be a full pop or anything. Low to Medium.
They will make more money off Cata upgrade packages then 1 year of an entire Wrath server. Let that sink in.
And they will lose more good will with the player base over not keeping a few Wrath ERA servers running than they created when they finally coughed up official Vanilla. Plus, the private server reverse engineers will just step up and take away much of the player base that Blizzard worked so hard to bring back.
The worst part about voicing your opinion on the game’s forum is that other random players decide upon themselves to report your posts and police the forums on how others should post.
They listen here. I actually think a WOTLK server is likely. They just won’t leave it up from the jump. THEY WANT YOU to go to Cata. Even if its begrudged. Once a lot of people are their you would be suprised how many would actually end up staying and playing. After this mass becomes “committed” they drop some WOTLK servers for those that absolutely refuse and they reel those people back in while not doing real damage to the Cata release.
Didn’t they allow people to keep their characters in vanilla when it rolled over to tbc? I know they charged first but I thought they removed that cost after. Maybe I’m wrong with this though.
What I’m getting at though, if that is the case, maybe they saw that most had no desire to just stay on the previous game. So maybe you’re just in the minority here.
But really I have no issues with wrath era servers existing, but I wouldn’t use numbers of threads of on these forums as a proper gauge for what people want.
