Recently I was banned for 7 days (now over with) for a bad character name and was wondering how to get character name change on wow classic anniversary realm. I got worse names then the name I was reported for and trying to get ahead of it by making it right but it’s such a hastle to make a ticket for anything other than a ban appeal. I even tried to call the customer support number and said to press 1 for anything game related then told me to refer to the website then literally hanged up on me so I’m guessing they no longer do customer service over the phone. I’m so confused on the point of customer service for wow now when you can’t talk to anyone but would like to ask here just incase there is a new way to contact them. Any help would be appreciated ty

Self report by creating a ticket with the toon names in question. Explain that you were actioned over a name and are concerned about these other ones.
Go back in time about 15 years.

suspensions do not happen automatically from reports
only silences
actually it does. its what happened to me. the email i got said i was reported multi-pal times and not only i was suspended i was also silenced on the forums so a bit of both really.
You just need to ticket a GM and hope for the best. I had a 7 day suspension because of a name report back in tbc classic.
Around day ten they responded telling me it was only a one day suspension. On day 11 I was back in game.
thats the issue. you can only msg a gm through only a couple means. one of them is an account appeal with a ban or suspension. when i msg them asking can i get some character name changes to avoid future issues of bad names and i get this:
“After careful investigation of your game account, your “World of Warcraft” game account has been confirmed to violate the Blizzard End User License Agreement, and during the violation period, there is no sign of the account being stolen, so we confirm that the punishment is a correct judgment, and will uphold the original judgment.”
like what? lol thats not even what i asked!! ofc my suspension is over with now cause im not able to msg here now but this is crazy how out of touch they can be with the customer service. i cant even tell if its automated or a gm failed to read what i asked before copy/paste a template.

you can get suspended solely from chat reports if its not the first time

Now, please don’t make any case for your sanction appeals here, because those are two different teams entirely. You’ll muddy the ticket with things outside of those GMs’ purview.
And as for the silence, there have been a few others reporting similarly over in CS about that. For one person it was merited, but it seemed that other people had been reporting similar unexpected silences. No work around or “fix” has been mentioned.
They stopped that well over a decade ago. If you’ve any further questions in this vein, please do come over to the CS forum. Folks will be glad to try and get you pointed in the proper direction as best they can.
