How do warriors afford to PvP and PvE?

This isn’t a subtle PLEASE ADD DUAL SPECS! request - I am just honestly curious: how do warriors who both PvE and PvP afford to constantly spec swap? Fury seems pretty darned lackluster for PvP, and Arms is undesirable (as far as I can tell [and especially for Alliance, with no windfury totems]) in raiding.

So how is it done?

Go tank dungeons for money or go collect crafting mats. There really isn’t anything super secret about making enough gold in Classic…just gotta put the time in

Pretty much this. Gold farming is what you make of it.

I use a hybrid 2H Fury spec for both since Horde has the WF advantage so 2H is viable at least…

Just take the 5 points in Booming Voice, Piercing Howl, 3 in Blood Craze, and 2 in Improved Intercept, with the rest like a regular 2H 20/31 Fury spec.

I’ve been using that while I wait for it to get cheaper to respec since I was at 50g respec costs last month when I stopped changing specs every week and settled on this 2h hybrid spec.

I pvp ful time and use close to 300-400g in consumes a week in Faps, Lips, Sappers etc

I generally reach my cap than respec Fury/prot. I have a full reflect set

Skullflame
Rag trinket
Crystal spires
Gnomeragon helmet ETC

What i do is Sell EXP Carry runs of BRD for mages/locks prio doing the low level things such as prison circles + angerforge etc. I tank for free but i reserve all the unwanted BOPs, and all boes including Librams.

This nets around 1k-2k gold in a full day (Libram of voracity + constituion are around 200-250g on my server)

i respec 4 times a week

Arms at the start of tuesday
Fury/prot at raid time
Back to arms
Fury/prot for farm day

so 200g + 300g or so on PVP consumkes + around 250-300g for raid consumes (i flask every raid as a tank)… Netting a + 200g most weeks for dumb stuff and helping out friends/my guild

Most people don’t respec between pve and PvP. Unless you’re running in a premade WSG that’s hard core honor farming, you’ve no reason to need MS over fury. Sure it’s nice to be the best optimal spec for whatever you’re doing at the time, but unless you’re 100% minmaxing everythinf you’re doing at all times, there’s no reason to.

Of course some people do this, but most don’t.

You’re right, it’s not subtle at all.

I respec for raid then go back to pvp spec, arms is ideal dungeon spec and thats how I farm.

I’d imagine the same way rogues do it. Farm lots of gold in order to respec at will.

I’m pretty sure all classes have an ideal raid spec which is different than their ideal PVP spec.

I find fury better for PvP anyway. Farm, DPS, and PvP fury. Most 1v1 fights I’m better off fury, 20v20 is a slaughter anyway and I’d rather have fear immunity than mortal strike.

Moral of the story, unless you’re tanking just stay fury.

By running 31/5/15 and being an off tank, not dps.

LGG is now available and the synergy with that and Last Stand makes 31/5/15 a very potent pvp build that is also capable of off tanking with no issue.

31/5/15 is a great leveling spec as well as being great for dungeons; I used that from 1 to 60.

I prefer 20/31 with some points optimized for PVP for a hybrid PVP/PVE. Giving up Mortal Strike is rough but gaining Intercept/Flurry is worth it; in a big brawl you can outdps healers and it’s a good training spec for practicing pummeling on healers.

I’m building thunderfury this week.

If you haven’t spent at least 8000g on your warrior yet, let me play you the world’s smallest violin.
