We killed argus 2 expacs ago, stopping the regeneration of all demons in the twisting nether. How do we still summon our same demons after they die?
Every demon killed past it was established to be permanently dead, and lore devs have even said that Kiljaeden and Archimonde are gone forever now that argus isn’t there.
I would say its long overdue to allow Warlocks to have a short questline to establish their own little twisting nether back in our order hall and finally get demon stables. At least it would make some semblance of sense then. Altho I would miss my imp Jubjub and my voidwalker Helphog
I thought they were dead-dead because they died in the Twisting Nether, not because Argus was gone. As I understood it, his power allowed demons to regenerate significantly faster but ultimately any would (eventually) regenerate on their own provided they weren’t killed in their home turf.
The process for demons to regenerate was not stopped. This predates Sargeras taking the reins.
Argus sped up the process of their natural regen considerably though, and the soul/master warlock status gives you a lot of imaginary headroom to work with. Its onw of those vague details.
yea argus just speeds up regen. the reason they had to have sargeras basically be an eternal demon thinner is because they kept coming back. since canonically warlocks still work with soul gems I imagine that using a soul gem regenerates the demon when you summon it.
DH for example legit regens by using pieces of a soul left behind after killing an enemy or shattering someone’s soul.
Yea, we see with the Kyrians daily that they still go back and get rezzed. They go to the realms of fel or something like that as suggested by Kyrians.
It’s pretty much why I hated that whole “Demons use Argus to regenerate dead demons” thing. Why did that have to be a thing? Why did Blizzard decide they needed to rationalize and explain it? Why couldn’t we just stick to the tried and true Demons return to their home plane when killed thing?
Things were so much simpler when demons could only truly die within their home plane, and to make up for that it’s difficult for them to breach the mortal plane, and usually required manipulation and subterfuge to open a way through.
Now that the Twisting Nether and demon lore is all twisted up like it is (pun intended) it leaves a whole heap of inconsistencies, Warlock pets being a big one. Previously, if a Warlock pet died, oh well too bad it just returned to the Twisting Nether, just call it right back, it’s fine. Now? Ok, so demons can still come back apparently but Argus was why they came back so fast, yet I can just instantly drag them back to my side immediately even though apparently demonic regeneration is greatly slowed now? Either this means the speed difference is imperceptible, making the whole Argus thing pointless because lesser demons still respawn instantly, or the whole thing makes no sense.
I digress, the burning legion deserved 2 expansions. instead they rushed the lore so sylvanas and the jailer’s “master plan” could hold the spot light.
Voidwalkers used to actually be demons before the Void was reclassified as a completely different thing, which only started to happen in BC, and didn’t really go full swing till… I want to say Cata?
Hence blueberries are warlock pets and haven’t been touched on since.
