How do Void elfs use the Light?

It was my understanding that blood elfs did not follow/use the same light that the Draenei and Humans do, rather they got their light magic from the sunwell.

This being the case which light are Void elf priest using? Are they still connected to the Sunwell or do they now follow the same light as the humans do? If so how does the void effect their relationship with it.

None. Void elf priests using the Light makes no sense, and is likely just a game mechanics thing.

This is really lame if that’s the case

…where did people get the idea the Void and Light are opposites?

SHADOW and Light are opposites.

Void and Death are opposites.

Blizzard separated Shadow and Void long ago.

If Void and Lights were opposites, any race of priest would explode. Lol.

The sunwell light comes from a naaru so it’s pretty much Draenei light, specially since Liadrin , their light leader, converted to a follower of A’dal.

Just like the forsaken holy priests
…you just have to get really really drunk.

No, Life is the opposite of death. The Void comes from shadow and it’s an opposite of light.

The giant diagram in Chronicle that puts them opposite each other?

Light and Void are opposites. Shadow refers to the school of magic derived from the Void the same way holy magic comes from the Light.

Death’s opposite is Life. (Shocking I know)

It’s similar to how lightforged draenei can use shadow and void as shadow priest even though it doesn’t make sense at all.

It would be really cool if they made skin classes for some races to fit better with their thematic, like void elves having a void skin for holy priest or lightforged draenei having a light skin for shadow priest. Better explained here

Someone hasn’t paid attention to the storyline involving Sylvanas and the Void Lords.

I want void paladins… that would be so incredibly fun, just turn their “holy” abilities to a void color and poof done.

This isn’t true because priests do not internalize their magic. They externally use it. If they internalized it, yes. You would be right. But they don’t. They act as conduits for their chosen deity. Nothing is taken within the priest. It is all woven through the hands, which is why when undead use the light, it hurts them so.

Same logic as an undead dk

They use the same techiniques the forsaken have.

Undead are resistant to the whispers of the void that doesn’t make them opposites. Literally the book datamined a few weeks ago says directly that Life is the opposite of Death and Alleria and Turalyon story directly states that light and shadow are opposites.

That is if their simple names aren’t enough.

I shall attempt to explain this using absurdly unsound logic… it will make so little sense that it makes perfect sense…

If the absence of light is void, then clearly the absence of void is light… therefore “light” wielding Void Elves are merely channeling the void in reverse. Rather than expelling the void put into the world to assault others they are drawing trace elements of the void into themselves from the world around thus increasing the amount of light in a location, and as a result it appears as though they are wielding the light.

Anyone can use the light. No idea why people keep thinking people can’t use it for some reason. You undead and so on in lore using the light.

Of course Void Elves could wield the Light, but I am quite sure it will cause immeasurable pain when casting or being cast upon.

Void Elves shouldn’t wield the Light.

The particular knowledge they gained/adopted should be coming from the darkest most horrendous and horrific corners of space.

They are Space Elves.

OP this shouldn’t matter anyways as you can look like a High Elf and RP as one. That is what really counts right? Maybe RP they denounced forbidden practices.

Plus if you want Light worship on a Cosmic level Alliance have Draenei. Alliance has the best of both worlds. Horde has Orcs that make huts. (No space ship included)

Also taking the time to drill in that the Draenei way of worship is not the only proper way. Like Blizzard wants to keep pushing. Really can’t stand the Naaru… or that only practicing one form of religion is the correct way and absolute.

This is not true, even a little.

Here’s the cosmology chart.
