Not a meme question here. I was wondering how the tanks that land themselves in a good guild get there? It seems like healers and especially DPS are sought after, rarely are tanks from a recruiting perspective.
As someone with mythic raiding experience on DPS, how does one make the switch if they want to?
well you just need to be out there
pretty much making a name for yourself
but if you are in a guild get some practice
be like hey i am going to try and tank need some practice and a tank to coach me on what i need to improve in ect…
You apply as a dps.
Wowprog is your best friend for finding a guild at the level you want.
Be a better tank than their tanks and usurp their position

Does this mean you essentially guild hop to find a group of people that you enjoy more?
you pug enough dungeons, people find you, add to their friend list, and get invited that way. Eventually tanks find a group they like, stop pugging altogether and randoms lose another regular tank in the pool.
go on wow guild recruitment Discord and find a guild that works for you.

you’re playstyle of tanking might not merge with another guild.
stay with the guild whom know you’re play style.
tanking is not that easy but its rewarding in the long run
Nah I just follow my friends to whatever guild they say is good and eventually bully my way into being the MT
Don’t settle. Guilds aren’t sacred. If something can’t be changed, and you have a problem with it, find a new guild.
This is the only good answer in this whole thread.
join as dps. let it be known you tank as well. offer to tank keys. offer to tank off-night or alt raids.
Why would someone do that if they really wanted to switch?
Raids are basically the opposite of dungeons.
Tanks are a dime a dozen
Healers are a bit rarer but still super common
Good DPS that can pull numbers and do mechanics are rare and precious and you want to keep them happy
and at the same time, there are enough guilds looking for every role in the game. But yea, usually DPS is always in demand.
This is accurate. I have found all my tanks through pugs and if they can hold hell together when it’s bursting at the seams from accidental stupid pulls they immediately get recruited. Pretty much how I’ve always gotten recruited as a tank or healer in a group as well.
That’s the way people group when they actually don’t do content. It’s okay for heroic level play I guess.
Go in as dps and wait for an opportune moment. Backup tanks are needed afterall.
Not entirely true. You can have idiots face roll extra mobs into world bosses, especially prevalent in the Maw. I’ve been recruited twice off of that - but since I have my own guild, obviously didn’t take them up.
