To continue playing a spec that no one plays. Maybe 0.1% hunter population
idc if bryan and ryan do not like to play survival, i will still play the spec and complete my personnal objectives regardless of bryan and ryan opinions
Part of the appeal is its lack of popularity.
By not paying attention to the 2% of people who are the forums. As long as I help the people I raid with and contribute, I do not have to be the super flotm meta spec.
The problem with survival isn’t that the idea or flavor is bad. I know people will come in here banging their drums saying RSV but that’s beside the point.
But the spec has been severely undertuned in all it’s existence or extremely overtuned for SL s3 and s4.
It was never a good spec maybe up until now. Not from a design pov or numerically.
This might be the best time to play MSV. It just needs a tad more dmg and help in AoE from what I hear.
Pretty easy OP, I for one will play this spec and I don’t give a damn about what other people do with their hunters.
Imagine being a sheep and playing HDH because its meta, there are millions of them. No thank you, I’ll use my own judgement to find specs that I enjoy, and keep playing those specs regardless of “population count”
Because I love the playstyle. Its always been fun imo and I dont care if other people dont enjoy it. I dont play wow to play fotm ya know? Just me anyways
honestly, true
Honestly this is how the game should be played. If you enjoy the fotm than go for it, but im going to play how I like since its my 15 bucks and this is what I enjoy
TBH most of the time its tuning has been fine.
At least since Legion😉
I impress my party mates/guild mates who don’t know what to expect from me, and I get to be top 50 SV Hunters on my realm with admittedly, minimal effort cos there’s so few. Also I manage to get dibs on lots of DPS mail and melee Polearms/Staves cos we don’t have Ferals or Enhance shammies so gearing was actually easier than praying for a bow.
And I’m having fun, prolly going to do PVP again even, cos of being motivated by SV.
Rude, did a survival hunter absolutely dick you today?
It helps when there are only 120 SV Hunters on our realm ![]()
Doing 100k goose bites keeps me going
I imagine that whoever wants to be a hunter doesn’t want to be a melee and whoever wants to be a melee will be a warrior or DK and not a hunter!
Not really. I started as MM back in vanilla, let my hunter sit by the wayside for a couple of expansions. Then I saw the frostwolf orcs in WoD and thought it was cool they were melee guys with animal companions and wished I could do that too. Legion came and I got my wish (though I stayed a dwarf because I like this character). The spec is far from perfect but I don’t see it as a lost cause like some do. It can be made better, provided people provide feedback and Blizzard chooses to listen.
This. The spec can be better, yes. Good ideas come from players WHO PLAY spec and discussions can be had with that. SV is a good concept, just as with any other spec, it needs to evolve and be worked on.
It would be great to actually have that conversation instead on pages of drivel about the days of range domination powerhouse the spec was 7 years ago.
I was looking for something to do any my friend bet me to play the worst class in wow… no kidding.
So I been trying, but I gave up two days ago. haha
Getting trained every match by more powerful classes is not cool.
If Survival was allowed to tame Exotic Pets I would probably swap off BM for it tbh. I had so much fun with the spec when I swapped to it to collect it’s Mage Tower appearance in Legion but I could never bring myself to bench the Loque’Nahak Spirit Beast I named after a family friend who is no longer with us that has been by my side for almost a decade
