How do shamans call upon lightning element?

Because there isnt major thunder, or storm elementals per say, the only elementals that we see using storms and lightning are the wind elementals but they still remain primarily the Wind attribute.
Shamans ask upon the help of the elements in order to use their powers (idk if that rules still applies to our shaman since we are kinda op compared to the rest), but since there isnt a thunder ragnaros or anything does that means that shamans can use these powers freely just like mana or something?

They do the lightning dance

They get it from the plane of air. You can even talent your elemental to be wid instead of fire and it shoots off chain lightning spam.

Says who? There was Al’Akir up until we killed him in Cata and the Shaman restored Thunderaan to power as the new Skylord in Legion.

None of them are…
they are both the Windlord, they can use these powers but they are not lightning elementals.
they are like clouds in the sky, clouds are not eletricity by any means but they can generate eletricity, is probably the same for wind elementals, but still WIND ELEMENTALS.
its like magma, There isnt MAGMA elementals, there is FIRE ELEMENTALS that CAN use magma

Lightning comes from wind, and the wind equivelent of Ragnaros is Thunderaan.

Storm, Earth and Fire - Heed my call!

Oh?

There definitely are lightening elementals though.

all but a bunch of variations…
elementals follows the primary types which are know by:

  • fire

  • water

  • earth

  • Air

  • Mana

  • Mercury

  • Primordial

Because chain wind doesn’t sound pleasant at all.

Now excuse me while I use dark taint on my warlock.

You forgot Alementals, at the very minimum.

Like this:

High winds generate electricity, and lightning can be generated through extreme pressure in the air. This causes electrons in the atmosphere to bounce around, and move generating an electric charge through kinetic energy. Something that wind pressure tends to cause, and resulting in lightning flashes being more abundant around tornadoes or heavy windstorms like hurricanes, should the appropriate amount of electrons be in the atmosphere.

One could argue lightning and electricity belong to the air element just as it does with the Fire Element since it can also be generated through heat energy.
