As far as we know, SLs has no elementals and no Elemental Lords. In addition it is a realm of Death and Spirit magic. Spirit magic in lore is known to supress Elenentals, hence why the furies of Draenor were so docile and cooperative.
We had a similar instance of this with Argus, where the Elemental Lords themselves simply imbuded the Farseer with their power to allow them to fight on Argus.
Of course mechanically it doesn’t matter, but how do Shaman work in lore in the Shadowlands?
Whenever Shamans try to use a spell, they’re disconnected while in a shadowlands zone.
Most likely they’re just going to ignore all of that lore stuff for the sake of gameplay.

You just call upon the Elements. They never have to physically be there for you to do your thing. Also Spirit is the stuff Monks use. The Spirit Realm and Shadowlands are different.
I feel so attacked right now.
Show me on the doll where the bad Shaman hurt you.

Shaman call the elements often from their respective planes already, outside of “reality”.
The totem or shaman is what keeps them tethered in our “reality”.
We are just opening a door to a different room, thats all. Same process.

I thought that only happened if I drop tide and BL at the same time in a dungeon.
Veil between worlds must be thin there
They do need to be physically present nearby we see this with Argus, and in the Garrosh raid fight where Thrall can’t use his shaman abilities because Garrosh’s Dark Shaman have “tortured the elements for miles around.”

I guess hunters can only use spirit beasts. Of course I will sacrifice all my pets and bring them with.

Actually, that isn’t true. Remember in Siege? Thrall couldn’t use the power of the elements because Garrosh made sure that the elementals were gone from the area or beaten into submission.
No elementals in the area means no power to siphon from.

Yes because in that area the elements were silenced. They couldn’t reach him there.

And in Shadowlands, the realm of the dead, the elementals won’t be there.

Just because they won’t be there doesn’t mean they can’t extend their reach there.
How would they reach there? They are living forces.
I always figured it was something with the totems. They still use those right?
Like you bring a portion of their power with you so you can call on them whenever or something like that.
I mean we know it will just be ignored but that’s how I would rationalize it.

Tbh even a statement from Blizz or Thrall saying that the power the Elemental Lords gave you for Argus is “still lingering within you”, would suffice. It makes enough sense.

We know that we, as players, are tethered to the realm of the living through our connection with Azeroth which is why we’re able to leave and enter the Shadowlands without becoming permanently stranded.
It’s a shot in the dark but I imagine that tethered connection is how the elements will respond to shaman.
If I recall canonically after our character enters the Shadowlands at the start of the xpac we are stuck there until the end of SLs. In game-play we can teleport around of course.
Lol what.
No they’re not. When an elemental dies they go to their respective plane. They do not go to the Shadowlands nor is anything living bound to Reality. Nor is anything dead bound to the Shadowlands.
That’s false. Ion clarified canonically we are not trapped in the Shadowlands.
They are a living force, as in they can die. No, they don’t have souls that go to the Shadowlands, but they can die.
When we went to AU Draenor, we had to contact entirely new Elementals. We didn’t summon them from our Azeroth. I don’t know why you think they can just stretch their power beyond dimensions and realities.
