you know how when you’re not in a guild people will randomly invite you to join theirs?
Not via a message but it will just pop up on the screen?
How do they do that?
I assumed it was an add on scanning the zones or something but then i got one during the middle of soloing an old raid.
Its like, how did you find me!?
From what I understand there is an add-on that does it for them. I have a toon in a guild that does that now and they actually raid and run mythics.
I know there are add-ons that can scan for unguilded players, but I couldn’t tell you which ones. I’m typically either in a guild or have guild invites turned off to not have to deal with that nonsense, spam invite guilds are nearly always bad news.
It’s an addon. Worked pretty well (recruited several hundred and with attrition I still have online peeps in the guild that we do M+ consistently and chat in discord) to build a guild on a server that didn’t have a lot of action otherwise. But with the new open recruitment option, and realm connects, its not really needed anymore.
I figured it was some addon that scanned and automatically msged new toons in starter areas.
Inevitably, when you join, 40 others pop up saying xxx joined guild too.
Then like two weeks later GM is pruning 8,000 toons.
Guilds does mean nothings this days…
They’re all bots, all the members of your guild are bots.

They use addons that spam. That is why I always have “decline Guild Invites” in the interface panel. I rather join a guild and get to know one guild than join a random guild that is all over the place.
You don’t need an addon. If you go to the “who” tab, you can see who is in your zone. You can sort by guild, if it’s blank, you just invite them.
But those are so much fun.

I actually got /gkicked out of a random guild I just joined once.
“will anyone spare me 500,000 gold”.
those spam invites are really annoying. And tbh alot of people think these are real guild lol
