Healing a Shrine of the Storm and watched as people stood outside the runecarvers rune and die to his channel as well as people running away from orbs during Stormsong.
DPS that died pitched a fit because I didn’t heal them. I’m not gonna waste my time/mana trying to heal damage I know I can’t heal through. I explained they needed to stand in the rune but they just blew a gasket and demanded that I be kicked.
Explained the Stormsong fight that you need to run into the orbs if you get MC’ed and instead they ran away from the orbs and away from the people trying to break the MC. Wiped the group twice before they left and we were able to finish.
It’s the end of the expansion for crying out loud. How do people STILL not understand those mechanics??
I have no idea what you are talking about in terms of that encounter because I haven’t done dungeons since WoD because of toxicity…but I have considered doing some, and I would be one you would probably complain about.
If you’re playing low level content then you’re playing with people who have been unsubbed for a long time and have recently resubbed for Shadowlands. That’s how.
I’ve seen it even before the pre-patch. People not standing in the circle in mythics and M+ and dying or even a few running away from the orbs.
I expect low level players to not know dungeon mechanics for something they haven’t done yet but when people are lvl50 they should know the mechanics at the very least. Both of those aren’t mythic/heroic only. They’re in base normal leveling dungeons. Theres zero excuses.
A LOT of people don’t do dungeons for various reasons. We usually get a surge of returning players at the end of an expansion pre-patch. So you have folks who just got to 50 with the new smooshed leveling, folks who just want to tick off some achievements, etc. Many of those are possibly alts people are leveling right now.
You are right, DPS should never expect heals! But a quick line or two with strats/guidance from someone is super helpful. More people than you know are new to that particular group content. I know memorizing all the bosses is kind of hard to do.
I would be one of the noobs if I joined you. I have not done dungeons with humans in years.
Level 50 means nothing now. It takes no time at all to level that far. It can be done on just simple quests super fast. Be nice to public groups. Play with friends if you want people who know your routines.
I have been playing bfa since uldir. I still dont know alot of the mechanics. I have dbm which really helps and GTFO which tells me if I am standing in bad. The problem with WoW is there are way too many mechanics to remember especially if you don’t do mythics alot. When I was forced to do mythic dungeons I would either get a carry or pay for carries, because, again, I am not the good and have problems with computer games. If I had the option to play wow on console, I would do that because console games are easier.
Wild guess would be all the people who left BFA early or skipped it entirely based on its poor reception or simply from being busy with Classic WoW now returning to do these dungeons for the first time?
I mean how are you lucky to not get punched off the edge? The adds and boss literally show you what direction they rush. It’s easy to move it takes no luck.
