i have been trying for 3 weeks to farm black lotus so i can make flasks for myself ive been to every zone and every spawn location ive camped spawn locations but i have never seen one even spawn. the times that i camped the spawns a bunch of players would show up right around the time it was due to spawn. this is really getting to be retarded, with bwl coming out people will be buying even more flasks. im honestly thinking of xfering my rogue to a super low pop server and just trying to farm them there for 90 days then xfer back. im on whitemane which is one of the most populated servers which is why they are so impossible to farm.

You’re better off farming gold and buying it the lotus.
This is why I dropped mining. The time spent trying to get rich thorium and arcane crystals became a loss when other gold making strategies were superior.
Top guilds know the timers and send people out to the spawn locations to grab them.
Gold sellers also have multiple accounts watching spawn points.

Yeah you’re wasting your time trying to farm them, it would be more effective to just farm gold and buy them, i heard a rumor on here that gold sellers camp the spawn locations of the black lotus on level 1 characters while a ghost and res when it spawns and grab it.

do /who for each of the zones you are interested in farming lotus in, pick the one with the lowest amount of ppl and then just continually make your way around the zone hitting every single spawn point of lotus and eventually you will get one, you then know exactly (pretty much) when the next one in that zone will spawn so you are at an advantage. This is best done during low-pop times ofc

Black lotus doesn’t respawn precisely 60 minutes after being picked, there is actually quite a wide respawn window. If you really want to farm it, pick one of the zones that seems like there’s less competition, and ride circuits of every spawn location as efficiently as possible. Unless a guild or multiboxer has a character sitting at every single spawn point, you will always have a chance of getting one.

They keep a level 1 alt there as a ghost, they can see the spawns even while dead so they sit there and when one spawns they log onto a main, pick it then rinse and repeat.
I’ll more than likely end up buying lotus and farming DM for all the other stuff. Mage + herbing in DM is $$.

The answer is that you can’t. No player can. There is no way to do that in this game. That is part of the game design. There are many items that are rare in this game. A few of them drop from gathering nodes. Others drop from bosses, or from random world mobs.
Black Lotus is semi-rare. On the 2 auction houses it costs around 27g apiece. One AH has 12 of them. The other AH has 5 of them. If they were truly rare, there would be 1 or 0 of them.
This is Classic. If an item sells for 27g each, will many people try to farm it? Is there a lot of competition for farming it? Of course!
I recommend you don’t transfer to a “low-pop server”. It only takes a few gatherers to watch all the spawn zones and spawn spots. Every Classic server has several thousand players.

It’s tough to 100% farm lotus as you’ll require 7+ people sitting in a zone, logging in every 45 (maybe 50? Can’t find perfect timer info for classic) minutes for 0-30 minutes.
I’m sure some top guilds could do this, but they also are the ones who probably won’t even need a flask to 1 shot every boss in BWL.
The real trouble are the level 1 ghosts controlled by bots(?)/gold sellers who sit at every spawn point 24/7

i always thought silithus was the best zone. but I really hate having to run through the elite hive mobs with a 60% mount
burning steppes is the “easiest” in the sense that it has the fewest spawn points

IMO, don’t camp black lotus. I plan my herbing path to include BL spawn locations and pick them up when I stumble across them.

Yea, stationary camping is a horrible use of time.
Running a circuit that includes all lotus spawns + mountain silversage/dreamfoil is a yuge moneymaker

idk about giving up mining man, if you can master the DME solo farm you can get 4-5 shots at the nodes in the back per hour. I paid for my epic mount and consumables with just a little bit of solo DME runs

if the sold for 27g i would just buy them, they are like 75+ atleast here
They could just make it so nodes don’t phase in until you’re alive.
