Blizzard has deviated from the 1.12 target in at least one way - they are leaving the mount/training prices as they were before 1.12.1
No particular reason they need to run with CRBG.
As to the queue times, personally I would be fine with long queues as long as I know I will be put up against same realm teams. It would go a long ways toward avoiding bots, afk’rs, and quitters. It would have no impact on the honor/rank grind since everyone on the realm/faction would suffer under the same queue times.
I won’t be participating in BG’s because of cross realm. It’s my way of passively objecting to their implementation.
Silver lining, I’ll be in the world more often for wpvp.
I understand that their might be a need for them, however I’d much prefer if they waited until there was a demonstrated need for them (such as excessively long queues) before crbgs were implemented.
I don’t really think that’s going to happen though.

That said, I’m in favor of adding them in Classic only if they become necessary. If the realms themselves can individually support a healthy PvP population, they should be left out. The current plan of just opening them up right away seems pretty unnecessary to me.
Xrealm BG = LFG and raid finder. getting grouped with a bunch of strangers you will never see again. no need to be polite in chat or work well with your team. next game will be more randoms. kills community. added if needed late in the content releases.

While Cross Realm BG’s certainly hurt the community building aspect, I think it will be drastically different now with there being what, 3 servers? 4 max if they do Roleplaying PvP as well as PvE?
The community will still be centralized into a small amount of severs and won’t be the 7+ server groupings we saw when this feature hit retail.
It wouldn’t be classic period.
So I’ll wait. I waited years for classic.

I dislike CRBG’s and battle masters and would prefer to see neither implemented in Classic.
Having said that, the original mount system is NOT a deviation from 1.12. The original mount/training system WAS part of 1.12.
The change was it made until 1.12.1.
1.12.0 used the old mount/training system.
Server only BG’s were what made Vanilla PvP great! I loved seeing enemies you recognized. I feel like once they brought out cross realm stuff, it ruined what made your server a community.

CRBGs killed the fun of pvp for me. There was nothing cooler that the rivalrys with fav enemys built up over multiple BGs.
CR did to BGs what LFR did to dungeons; killed the sense of shared community for the sake of expediency

Perfectly stated, this needs to continue to be talked about. With them in classic, these rivalries will not exist!

I’m glad you posted this op because it needs repeating. CRBG’s destroyed the pvp community when they came out in the last months of Vanilla. If they go live day one I might not sub or just stick to pve.
