Existing fleshcraft basically gets cut in half when gates open so you either immediately fleshcraft when you zone in so you have it up 1 minute into game or wait until gates open if you really need to live the opener.

Also if you’re a druid, stay bear form until gates open and you get a bigger fleshcraft.

Wait does Fleshy C get totally removed when the gates open now?

No, as said, it just scales down heavily. For instance, even as a druid, I can get a 40k+ shield but as soon as the game actually starts, it drops to 17k. If I cast it after the gates open, it’s back to 40ish.

I never noticed that… Interesting.

Goodbye 60k+ shields on my priest, I was having a blast laughing at rogue/mage players and their free opener now it’s not as simple.

It’s because when gates open it takes away the bonus that was being given via versatility.

But once gates open versatility affects the shield again. It’s weird.

Honestly it not being nerfed when used outside of the gates is a bug I think. It’s supposed to be the smaller 17k shield always after the nerfs last patch.

i dont think its a bug. you can disagree with it if you want, but i think thats the absorb amount the devs wanted . its just things like Earth Elemental or Bear Form or battlemaster trinket that could be stacked before the gates open and get like 60-70k shield going in was problematic.

I mean the patch notes said the shield is supposed to be 30% of your max health. So 30% of 60k would be a 20k shield. People still getting 40k shields unless they have a modifier like bear form after the gates open should effect it, but most classes should have the 20k shield.

its modified by versatility too.

i also think i remember the patch notes specifically stating that only shields cast before the gates open to arena/bgs would be reduced. thats what i mean. i think they just wanted to not have giant pre-shields.

It was funny to do battle standard/stam food/stam pot/fort/battlemaster and desperte prayer in bgs and get a shield so juicy you’d get a feeling of what playing Bfa destro was like.

i think they also wanted to stop people swapping into conduits/talents that buffed the size of the absorb before the match started, fleshcrafting with those conduits/talents, then changing out of those conduits/talents before the gates open but still keeping the extra larger absorb caused by them.
