I’m just getting into really playing again for the first time since Augment was released and I’m super confused with breath of eon. It’s a cooldown, so I expect it to do something fairly significant, but I use it at the start of lust and I look at logs and see only a small handful of people with like 20k, 30k, etc low damage coming from breath of eon.
So what’s the deal? I’ve only been doing LFR, so obviously low player skill most of the time, but am I just using it wrong? I just fly over the boss with it, does it need to also hit players to ‘buff’ them in some way? What should I be seeing from breath of eon on a typical boss?
Breath of eons acts as a multiplier to you and everyone you have ebon might on! It stores the a percentage all of them do over the 12 second window and then hits the boss for that amount.
This means that some setup is required, you should be looking to ebon might those who are going to be doing the most damage before hitting breath. It also means you should avoid using breath before any mechanic that would slow/stop the group from dealing damage.
And unfortunately, that makes it rough in lfr where sometimes people aren’t performing amazing. As for damage, this week I did M kazzara with my guild, with 2 casts over the fight, breath of eons hit for just over 2 million total damage.
