I have been having the WORST time with the game the past week. When I go through a portal or take a Hippogryph to a new town I have to Shutdown the game and restart! My toon will be there, but I can do NOT interact with anything. I cannot log out I cannot Quit the game I have to Click Close Page. Warcraft is the only APP I am having trouble with. SO I will try the uninstall and reinstall. how do I reinstall?
Try using this automated system to move your character to a safe place first.

I just think I need to Uninstall and reinstall. My cats have walked on the Keyboard a few times. maybe they did something. My Graphics were on Ultra, I tried to tone them down. I just don’t know how to reinstall Where I find the Link I do the 6 month subscription. Is where is the Link? I have a LOT of toons.
If the character is stuck in-game, then a reinstall will not help.
Give that link a go first. You’ve got nothing to lose.

No, the toon is not stuck. When I use a portal, or Take a Hippogryph to another Zone, I have to close the page, I cannot Log out or Quit game. My toon is in the town. I can walk around, but I cannot talk, or mount, nothing. I have to Open my google page and click close page. Not every time but 9 out of 10. I tried scan and repair, did not fix it.
Here is the order to do things in:
- Use the character unstick feature on the website. That often fixes it. If not…
- Do a full UI reset https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/7549
- Scan and repair - to do that click the wheel icon by the Play button. Let it run.
If you DO uninstall you can download again from the Launcher. Where is now says Play will say Install.

Try clicking the cogwheel next to your ‘Start’ button and choosing the ‘scan and repair’ option. That should clear your Cache, WTF and Interface folders as well as identifying and fixing any issues. Interface is where your addons are saved so it can help to copy that folder to somewhere else first so you have a backup.

I have multiple toons, in different Realms. After using a portal or changing zones on a Hippogryph it was like they were ghosts. They moved but could not interact with anything. I also could not log out or quit the game. I had to go to Desktop and close the page. I did the Scan and repair, it did not fix anything. It has not finished Installing but it seems to have fixed the problem. I will see in the morning.
Sounds a lot like a connectivity issue.
You can’t interact, log out, or quit the game, because the server is unable to acknowledge and respond to those requests.
Anyway, I wish you luck with your installation.

Did you in the launcher click on the thing to download the entire game files? If not having to load them from the web on demand will make you crash
The Uninstall-Reinstall fixed the problem! It took a while to reinstall. Now I need to get a shield to keep the cats off the keyboard! Love my cats, but they do not belong on the keyboard. Lesson learned.
