I right clicked the cower ability in my pet spell book to where the yellow thing isn’t spinning around the icon but my cat pet is still using the cower ability. Is this a glitch or can you not make the pet stop using the ability?
Sounds like a glitch.
If the yellow glow/sparkle is circling around the icon, that means its active and will be auto used. No glow means it should be off and can only be manually used (by you.)
- Try relogging
- Dismissing resummon
- Stabling the pet and bringing it back
- Write a bug ticket!

it seems like my pet isnt using the cower ability unless it uses the growl as well, even though the cower thing is turned off
worst comes to worst, go to a pet trainer and unlearn everything, then you can just not teach cower and never worry about it.
Cower came with the pet I tamed
Perhaps to go the breeder you got it from and inquire if perhaps it’s father is also its uncle?

I remember a similar glitch a while back with pet stealth, do you have multiple ranks of cower learned? I would try disabling those ones as well.

You can actually remove pet abilities from their cast bar, just as you would your own.
Just remove cower (drag it off the bar), and your pet won’t have the ability to ever cast it.
