I want to be able to heal exactly as I do on Vuhdo but on WoW ui and with the addon purge coming, im trying to get ahead of vuhdo being potentially wiped.
Thank you for the help in advance.

Oh there isn’t? Thats so strange. I might have clicked on clickbait.
Learn how to make and use mouseover macros. GG transition entirely completed.
Addon purge or not I’d recommend it.
Yep. There’s a lot of thst going around. It’s super frustrating to see.
Let me link you the official webcast. One moment.
Edit: here ya go!
If Vuhdo is going to be adversely affected, Id say we’d better hope bliz comes up with something comparable…or maybe they just make it easier so the addon isnt required.
likely. These wannabe streamers are clickbaiting the hell out of this addon thing and the one button rotation. lol
Your addons aren’t going away, HOWEVER – the old mods Grid and Clique are basically stock in the game now. If you turn on Raid Style Party Frames and then go Options -> Keybindings -> Click Casting
, you can basically bind any mod/click combo to any spell/macro you want. It is how I’ve healed for forever (and dropped Clique as soon as this was added a few xpacs ago).
You can not currently recreate all of the functions/customization of vuhdo/healbot with the base UI, some of the functions can be done with macros and combinations of other add-ons. But most of them are also combat information based add-ons that will most likely also become nonfunctional at the same time vuhdo is.
Blizzard claims they are going to put the “needed” functions of current combat add-ons like vuhdo, but we don’t yet know if they deem the things vuhdo can do that the base UI can’t as “needed” yet and are unlikely to until ptr or more realistically patch day.
As of now there is nothing to worry about. They may disable some addons eventually, but they will be continuing to make base UI changes before doing so, and are nowhere near that point yet.
For example, 11.1.7 is coming with a base UI rotation helper similar to Hekili, but they aren’t disabling Hekili with that release because they know their own version needs a lot of work before being a decent replacement.
It’s all just a goal and direction, nothing happening anytime soon.
No add-ons are being purged/wiped, but the API will have some information removed. If Vuhdo loses critical info that was in the API, but isn’t at some point a few years from now, then you’ll have a valid motivation for “getting ahead with the base UI.”
Try healing using the native party/raid frames with mouseover macros as described in the post below.
Well now is the time to try new things
Mouseover macros and click casting are all you need. Mouseover macros have been around since day 1 and click casting was recently built into the game. Literally zero need for any “healing addon”. Optional choice is a raid frame replacer like Grid if you don’t like the way Blizzard’s looks, but that is just a cosmetic thing.
Macro all of your abilities like this:
#showtooltip Spell Name
/cast [@mouseover] Spell Name
That’s it. No need to complicate the macro. I don’t even know what the help/harm thing does and I’ve never written them into my macros. They have worked fine for all the years I’ve been healing.
Click casting will enable your mouse buttons to perform set abilities, just like Vuhdo. Open your game options and search for Click Casting and set it up from there.
Have fun.
the WoW UI frames are pretty mid…I recommend Cell it’s way better than Vuhdo
and that’s being generous.
yea true lol…if they’re seriously going to get rid of addons they need to be as good or better than what they’re replacing.
Can you click cast your dispels? I recall not being able to when i was setting it up on my shaman. I got annoyed and installed cell because of it. have they changed it?
Hmm, I’m not sure. I don’t bind dispel to mouse buttons so I’ve never tried. Click casting has always worked with whatever spell I choose so maybe try it out again. I’m at work otherwise I’d log in and try it lol.
Indeed they are. They look visually nice, but are still very lacking as far as tracking debuffs and dispels.
This isn’t true. With the default in game click casting you can only bind right and left mouse clicks with modifiers. You cannot bind any letter or number buttons or any modifiers, such as Shift, Ctrl, etc. You also cannot bind the mouse up or down.
Not that I am aware of. You would need to make a mouse over macro, then bind click-cast that.
