How do I stop shadowlands campaign?

Hello. On all my characters I’m getting pushed into shadowlands in late 40s and no way to come back. I’ve ruined several characters and now 1 shot everything. Game is really boring that way. How do I fix this? Every time I go into orgrimmar I get screamed at “CHAMPION…blah blah blah.”

Do blizzard think I’m incapable of picking up a quest on my own?

I did shadowlands once already and had no clue what was going on. Now I really don’t know.

This games story and following it in order is an abomination. They screwed it up so bad. I’m about to give up. Should have never activated shadowlands. Never.

Damn you really went through a whole range of emotions in such a short post.

I don’t think you can stop SL getting forced on you once you hit 48 though

Why force SL on ppl at 48 when skipping the Maw intro requires 50? Is it just new players that get forced into it at 48?

You only get the quest at 48. The game doesn’t boop you out of the content you’re doing until your first XP after hitting level 50. I should know. I have 14 level 60s, and four more I’ve gotten into Shadowlands content and are levels 57, 51, and two 50s. Nothing has been boosted at all.

What you’re describing only happens at 50. Yes, at 48 and above, you get a quest to start the Maw intro, but it doesn’t force you to until 50.

I think what they are describing is being pushed out of chromie time possibly? I know if you even do one shadowlands quest at 48 you will permanently be removed from chromie time.

I get that because he says he one shots everything but idk.

Just sounds like another upset customer dealing with stupid a** systems and scaling problems and confusion.

This is correct.

You can, just dont go handing in the quest that pops up, continue on your merry way till 50.

This is likely what happened. He got tired of hearing the quest giver every time he went into Orgrimmar, so he turned it in and can’t finish the other stuff at level.

How can I stop the quest from playing every time I walk past them. They are in middle of orgrimmar. It’s fracking annoying. I do quest try go back on a couple like I’ve been told hearth before expecting next or what ever then boom no more old world forced shadowlands.

I’m pissed blizzard doesn’t explain this at all in game. I have no idea how to continue enjoying game how I want to enjoy.

English isn’t first language.sorry I try

You sound as crazy as me. I have two of every class, 14 60’s and everything else at 50 or higher, so at least 10 other characters between 50 and 60. Wanna share a straight jacket? :joy:

You need to stop XP at level 47 to avoid it. Any higher and it triggers the SL campaign.

If you are trying to play the game in chromie time with no interruptions I hear people prefer freezing xp at 45 so there characters stay right before getting pushed into the current expansion. You won’t get the dialogue from the quest or the pop ups if you do this.

Are you familiar with freezing xp?

Yeah I meant like you can’t stop the can’t from getting forced on you but yeah you can just not hand it in.

It’s a logical move if you don’t play the game and don’t care.

This character not frozen anymore. I freeze xp on others.

I had several now unable to enjoy chromie time like I enjoy. I don’t enjoy shadowlands and covenants. Now I can’t use in chromie time and all that progress and how I rp with them gone forever. I don’t even want to play anymore. I’m so upset.

I’m sorry blizzard didn’t find it necessary to properly explain how to keep a character in chromie time and what not to do.

Actually, the quest even pops up on characters on accounts that have not purchased shadowlands. They will let you start the quest, but when you get to the “time to go to the maw now” part, you get an error message saying you haven’t purchased shadowlands and can’t continue. Your character is zoomed into a black void from which there is no way out. It takes about 8 Alt-F4’s, disconnects, then falling through reality before you can recover your character.

The person who decided to force that quest into the quest log of players who are going to get that trash experience needs to be moved to a position where they will never be allowed to release any untested content again.

The quest is only an issue for some of my characters who reached level 50 and wanted to do the intro to BfA, because that phases you out. However, as Horde it is easy to just take the portal to Dazar’alor and start taking quests, so not an issue anymore.

Putting in a plug here to make it as easy for Alliance to take the portal to Boralus at 50 and pick up quests. I tried that and the only quests available were Against Overwhelming Odds and A Dying World, which a level 50 needs. But why is the portal to Silithus available to Horde but not to Alliance? What a pain to get from Boralus to Silithus as Alliance on a new character! You’d think that given the faction imbalance, they’d make it as easy to play Alliance as Horde, but nooo…

Blizzard is hard selling Shadowlands and annoying their existing player base as they do so.

When you hit 48, click the popup and then cancel it. Then shift click the quest on your quest tracker and then keep leveling until you’re ready to go the SHADOWLANDS.

You can port to Uldum and then fly to Silithus. :upside_down_face:
