Blizzard has planted a virus much to the annoyance of all players who are infected by this aggravating bug. If you log out on a character that has these showing it immediately infects the next character you log in. Lets say you have played since vanilla like myself. I am on eight realms with over 50 characters. Many of which I only play when I need something from their inventory or want as many alts to run an event. If you pop into an alt who has not played for months and it is infected with the Traveler’s log virus and move to the next alt the virus rears its ugly head again. Sometimes older characters have so many quests you never see it. Even new characters the way quests show now Traveler’s achievements are the last to show so it could be hidden. Now you’ve started then entire virus all over again.
looks like blizzard is to myopic to see this is still a problem…
God this bug is so annoying.
Its sooo annoying every toon
Ook soo I got up out of bed to try this … I was going to wait till tomorrow but I was too curious ! I did this and it worked, I hope it stays that way lol . Thanks for this post !
-cries in 50 alts-
Mine does this too. I once tracked the 25 raid bosses and now every month it pops up without me actively tracking it. I can shift click it in the log to get rid of it but it occasionally comes back if I log out or enter a dungeon.
Pretty annoying, but a simple shift click literally fixes it so it’s really not a big deal.
Had this issue myself a couple months ago. Forget what it was, but it was one of those events that only lasted a few days within the month, I didn’t complete it, so it was still sitting there like I needed to get it done. It cleared once the month switched over to the next month, thankfully, but sounds like that isn’t the case for everyone.
I recently had the quests in pandaria one, I tracked it, then didn’t complete it and every single alt told me about it, so I finally went and did it on an alt and it finally cleared.
Still happening.
Common sense post. Thanks for sharing. I think at some point this should be saved within your UI upon exit.
Hmmmm, if the setting isn’t saving properly then I’m apt to think there may be an addon messing with it. Have people tried disabling all addons, relogging, then untracking? I know I’ve had to do that to get my custom setups in edit mode to save so I wonder if this is a related bug
Still happening to me, I made the mistake of tracking an objective 3 months ago and now all my characters are getting that popup. No addons present
Happens all the time, any update on this bug blizz?
this issue has been going on for ever, even if you shift click it sign off and back on its back again
You have to log into each character on your entire account, untrack, go through the whole list of characters on every server, then it’ll stop tracking. Just don’t log into any character you’ve already logged into until you’ve untracked on every single one.
Nah, I’m not going to do it, its definitely a bug that blizz/microsoft should address. But seems they don’t care.
