Title really says it all, I can’t figure out how to not see the fishing rod when I have it equipped in the new profession window, is it even possible?
When you first drag the fishing rod into the Fishing Journal it gets equipped automatically. There’s a buff for when it’s equipped (Fishing For Attention); you can click that off to unequip it. After that, it only gets re-equipped when you cast.

I was equipping and unequipping my skinng knife, mining pick and fishing rod and the last one I did always would appear on my character and I didn’t notice the buff and couldn’t figure out why it was showing. You just helped me out but clicking off the buff. Have a great day, hero!

I should add that there’s an NPC in the first Dragonflight zone that can change how much you see of the profession tools. I didn’t play around with the options but it’s an option for folks who don’t want to see as much of those tools as they currently do.

Aha, I was wondering about that.
You can also attack something and it will go away, but knowing about the buff is nice as well.
That option doesnt work for me i clicked off the tool buff and the fishing pole still shows up its still not working

Clicking off the “Fishing for Attention” buff still works for me with the Underlight Angler - I switch back to my weapon. Which fishing pole are you using?
I have the same problem. It keeps showing no matter what I do. I spoke to the lady in ruby life pools, Clicked the buff, tried attacking mob. Nothing. I use the legendary fishing pole from Legion.
