This might be a dumb question- I just reached level 70 and my XP bar disappeared. However, there are plenty of people around who are over level 70. I am not sure if I need to own something that I do not have. I am just paying monthly & haven’t bought any other expansions.
You may need to purchase The War Within expansion in order to progress to level 80, if you are playing Retail.
There are several different clients for WoW now, not including PTRs, there are WoW (Retail client), WoW Classic (classic progression, currently at Cataclysm Classic), and Classic Era (Classic Era, Hardcore, and Season of Discovery).
Your subscription covers all of those, but for the newest Retail content, you also need the most recent expansion.
