So a few things I run into are threat generation, and that leads me to this posting.
I stretched gems, enchants and gear to make myself 4 things.
1- (check) 8% hit capped
2- (check) 540 defense (I no longer trust resillience for a simple crit cap)
I got crit by prince in heroic OK with well over 100% crit immune due to having less than 540 flat defense, but well over crit immune. I was not laying down or debuffed by his stun.
3- (check) Expertise capped (currently 7.75%)
4- (check) Stamina out the wazzoo. Currently based on trinkets and 3 jewellers gems.
I am having threat problems, or rotational problems. I can’t tell if it’s due to other classes having high threat, or simply due to whoever face pulled it first.
Example - A slightly less geared paladin starts the pull or he does it on his own without warning. It will take me a few moments to overtake their threat, or sometimes just not at all. It could be due to hunters or rogues redirecting threat, but I would expect to have much higher threat to pick those mobs up with a single ability.
The ultimate question is this - Is it worth giving up my 10% hammer damage and flat mitigation in order to boost shield block value?
I really can’t tell which one is more crucial when it comes to an opener, because I certainly don’t have the time to open with a judgement > SoR these days with how dps play, and I need to find a solution to stupidity that won’t cause bigger problems.
I feel like stacking shield value is going to get me killed more than it’s likely to save me. Having a higher chance to block a massive damage attack feels counter productive or lethal when I could have higher dodge or parry.
Maybe I need to be duo geared and constantly swap between bosses and trash my gear? Currently the only “threat” item I can focus on is Greatness card, but then I lose one of the two uld stam trinkets.
Any help would be appreciate, and yes I already tried Alt+f4 and gitting gud.
