How Do I play?!

So… do I just not use a voidwalker now? it dies out in the open world trying to get basic quests done.

I myself am close to dying I have to spam eating my healthstone, problem is I have to wait another minute to use it and that’s all i have to heal with now. I think my hunter has more heals now then my warlock?

CHRIST did people beta test this???

Pull less;
Use Mortal Coil often;
If you’ve chosen the Hellcaller hero spec you can use your Dark Pact to heal yourself;
If you’ve chosen Soul Harvester hero spec your Healthstone is much stronger;
You can re-summon your Voidwalker instantly every 3 min (1 min if you spec into talents that reduce Fel Domination cd);
You can also heal your Voidwalker;
Soulstone can make your death less frustrating.

Even though they’ve gutted Drain Life, Warlock still has a lot of tools to not die, just use them. I had no problems leveling.

Are you a dev or something? all of your suggestions were things the warlock already had. this is AWFUL.

Doing a dungeon run and seeing my health drop is literally depressing i can’t even believe what I’m looking at here.

Yet you still don’t seem to use them.

You’re clearly doing something wrong, as I said I had zero problems both in Open World and Dungeons.

I just tried to help, but you’re attacking me for some reason.

What on earth are you talking about? yup, I used my health stone.

then my health started dropping again RIGHT after that, now i’ve got a 1 minute cooldown, Awesome.

What’s next? I can go down this whole entire drill with you, the fact is you simply will not gaslight me into this being a i’m doing something wrong situation, the self healing is literally gone. This is lke a crappy mage or something, heck I can’t even figure out what I would call this.

You have a lot more than just a Healthstone.
-Dark Pact
-Unending Resolve
-Empower your HS with Soulburn
-Mortal Coils
-Also, avoiding swirlies would help

This conversations seem to be pointles, you don’t want help you just want to rant. Don’t know why I’m even trying to help.

Edit: If that’s not enough for you you can also use healing potions.

I have not died once on my lock between healthstone which got better btw, mortal coil, shield, shield wall, and if need be drain life but if youre doing that you probably messed up. Warlock is in the best spot its been in a long time with the exception of destro but survivability on warlock is not bad at all whats so ever… guess it was a losing battle since you mentioned you play hunter

There’s also bandages and food to be used between battles.

Coil → Stun → Fear

I was soloing elites 2-3 levels higher than my lock while leveling. It’s honestly one of the easiest classes to solo with, you’re definitely doing something wrong if you can’t kill something before it even looks at you weird.

Post on your lock so we can see your talents and let us know what your dps rotation is.

I can attest to the OP arguments. It sucks right now.

I am under geared and did not benefit from the easy leveling option with early release. Over the past week I have died way more times than any prior leveling experience with my lock. Drain life is useless. Soul link and our self sustain are significantly reduced from prior editions. I’m only 77. I get frustrated and log and go do something else. We really shouldn’t need to press Health stone, pact and DR every pull. The only way I have had any success is with the above and destro single or double pulling. AOE pulls are instant death.

I was going to be nice at first until I saw all of the attitude you gave to people trying to help you.

This is a you problem. The problem isnt the class. The rest of us are doing just fine. Spend less time being aggressive and more time improving your gameplay. This is a skill issue

Yes the foes are deadlier, I have noticed this myself. However it just means I have to play my character vs “kill mode engaged”.

Funny enough my Warlock is my easiest with the exception of having to top off my Felguard at the end of a fight.

My suggestion is find the training dummies and test out your rotation and get used to what defenses you have and how often you need to heal your demon.

I mean anything that’s currently out it’s pretty poor in terms to tell how well do in good content since raiding or mythic plus aren’t even out yet.

The only one thing I can say is do not rely on pets to hold aggro. They don’t, w.e aggro change they did it affected pets as well. On another note mob health is so short sometimes they just blow up on some damage proc before you realize it’s dead.

Any content to current week should blow to any spec. And that’s world/heroics since none of that is remotely difficult. There always lot of people out in the world quest doing it in groups if that is something your willing to give a go. I saw plenty on either warmode on / off but that might change come next week.

Lastly it is fine how the world quest/normal/heroics is currently tune. Any easier it it’ll feel like I’m playing an arpg.

In the midst of a dungeon with healers refusing to heal you and wanting you to die, Warlocks have SO much utility and a means of healing themselves or surviving. If you’re dying, you’re doing something wrong.

Also. You have the mind and over confidence of jumping a Hunter.
Stop that.

Sure thing bub. LMAO

If you actually want help, people will willingly help you improve your play, but it sounds like you just want to complain. But, 100%, it’s you - not the class.

I was about to post something that could be helpful to try to get an understanding of what exactly you’re having an issue with and what spec, but all of your replies have been purely negative in regards to feedback people have tried to give you. Maybe fix your attitude if you want to ask people questions, especially when most are understanding and are happy to help you improve.

I mentioned this earlier this week in another post.

If you’re not trying to level a max geared lvl 70 character then level as demo cause the felguard can tank properly, if it’s still dying then take all the talents that reduce it’s damage taken.

After the ilvl changes ( typical dev kneejerk reaction ) it’s much harder to face tank things with low ilvl equipped, so until your character catches up in gear and levels beyond 75 demo will fix your issue.

I know it’s not the ideal answer, but I have zero problems with my felguard holding aggro. You could level up as demo but that smacks of giving up unless it is your preferred spec, as it is for me.

Yes, it shouldn’t be too much to expect for the voidwalker to hold threat, but here we are. It’s probably in league with Xal’atath and wants you to suffer.

That’s a disturbing yet shockingly plausible explanation! :rofl:
