Didn’t play beta or whatever it’s called, have never interacted with housing, know nothing about it
When I log in, will I get to survey the area before I pick a plot? Like go in, walk around, stand on each plot and see the view first. How does it work?
If you have time, search YouTube for videos. I don’t mean that disrespectfully- there’s just a lot of videos, even short ones under 5 minutes, that explain how it works.
Basically once you load the game, you get a quest like you do at the start of each expansion, you will travel to Founder’s Point or Razorwind Shores, you open the map and you can see what plots are available- and which aren’t. If all the plots are taken (and they will go fast) you can just refresh the housing window until the plot you want becomes available.
But once you’re in, you can explore, you can walk right up to the property. If you want to view a property before buying, you can do that- I haven’t fully explored this feature, but I think it basically reserves the plot for you for 5 minutes while you check it out. If you decide to buy, you can do so for 1,000 gold. And all plots cost the same.
But I highly suggest browsing YouTube. I’ve been scrolling all day!
Edit:
Here’s a couple videos I came across that have been great ways to tour the neighborhoods and the plots. If you know ahead of time what plot # you want, it makes looking for it easier once you’re actually in game.
Cool, this is kinda what I was looking for anyway. I don’t want to spoil too much of the surprise of walking in and exploring, but I just wanna know how I’m going to pick a plot and if I’ll get to explore before doing so to see what I like.
Yeah there will basically be a tutorial for how to get there once you login. And you can definitely explore before committing.
And one of the cool features is, if you decide you ever want to move your house to a different plot, you can do that for free, and the game will just allow you to pack up your house, and move to a new plot. You don’t have to take anything down or pack up- it just moves your house. Which I think will be pretty cool, especially if you can’t get the plot you want right away, but if somebody moves later on, and that plot become available- you can move there.
Yes. There is Founder’s Point for Alliance, and Razorwind Shores for Horde. And you get 1 housing plot per faction, so you can have houses in both locations.
And the cool thing is you can set it up so you travel between the two. So your Horde alts can visit your Alliance house, and you Alliance alts can visit your Horde house.
