I made one buff timer icon for when I cast shield on my DK and i just wanna do more instead of copying and pasting others.
I’d recommend checking a youtube guide for it, it’ll be much better than anything you’ll read here.
That said, there’s a lot of premade weakauras you can set up within the weakaura addon. Start by using those, and let us know specifically what you want your weakaura to show/do and we can probably help you with that.
Type /wa.
Click on everything, experiment, discover stuff.
That’s a pretty complicated question…since wa’s let you do basically anything that’s allowed by an addon. Simplest method is to just do what you’ve already done: see something you want to track, and make a wa for it.
Copy/pasting other wa’s is a decent way to find out how they’ve been made. Assuming they aren’t the complicated ones that require you to know some coding syntax. Otherwise, it’s just a matter of playing around with the addon.
Check out Quazii’s master class video on you tube. You’ll be a pro in no time
If you have an existing one, picking it apart is a big help, especially for common stuff like cds/buffs/dots.
Fancier ones with actual script content are much harder to learn, but 99% of those are things that you know you wouldn’t want to tackle from scratch.
Find one you like and tweak it. Go into the guts of the thing and understand why it’s set up the way it is. Playing around with existing WAs is a good way to familiarize yourself enough to start creating your own.
And, don’t become discouraged. WA creation is not very user friendly.
