How do I make my computer able to handle WoW?

I played Legion a little bit back in 2017 and I reinstalled recently and it’s super slow on my new computer. I can barely run it unless I’m on the lowest settings for everything, and even then it’s still slow.

Here are my current specs. Tell me if I should update my computer.

Processor: Intel(R) Core™ i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz 3.10 GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650

Your hardware is 10+years old

You’d basically want to get a more modern computer at this point or if you want to take the upgrade slowly approach you’ll need to list your budget, case, and power supply.

The system requirements for upcoming Dragonflight:

Or for a quick comparison to your specs, the minimum you need is:

  • CPU: Intel 4th Gen (4000-series Haswell)
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 900-series

Your RAM meets the minimum. You would also have to consider your storage device as well - the game loading times are much faster on an SSD vs an HDD.

I honestly think I got scammed because I bought this computer back in 2020 on Amazon. I paid $750 for this junk. Anyway, thx for the advice.

Given your toon’s name, this isn’t surprising

damn

do you still have the link?

I don’t think you got scammed. You just purchased as the height of PC hardware inflation. in 2020 even a 1 generation old 2080ti would have been going for several hundred dollars more than you paid for your entire system.

naw he got scammed

that processor cane out 2011

An uninformed purchase isn’t a scam… If I purchased a 3090ti from one these 3rd party resellers for $4k dollars right now did I get “scammed” ? … The answer is no

Walmart has the same system listed for $600 2 years later. I guess they are in the business of “scamming” now …

Right.

It’s a perceived scam by the “uninformed consumer” when they to their horror, realize they have been “ripped off”.

I guess “ripped off” is the better choice of words.
