Trying to level up tailoring.
Anything I can make that levels me costs sparks. I am not spending my sparks on crappy R1/R2 epics that I will never use. So how can I level up my tailoring? Any suggestions?

Probably not
Then you’ll probably never max out tailoring
You can get 1 point every month at the darkmoon fair. If you’re at 50, then in 4 years you can max it out.
Use the sparks. You get a new one every two weeks automatically by doing the Loamm quest. If you’re behind, you get catchup sparks from other activities. You can also use other player/character sparks if they place a work order with you.
To max mine out i believe i made the blue quality chefs hats. I know you can do it without sparks
Edit: actually i think it was the fishing hats because those dont cost mettle
The best way is sparks. Yours or from other people via crafting orders.
What I thought was op was leveling an alt to max, grabbing the free 5 sparks and just getting roughly 15 skillups off those with a crafting order to my main char and just doing it for each alt.
I farmed work orders for crests as a chanter, is there something people can send you work orders for?
There are various recipes from renown, specializations and fishing bottles (if anyone is still finding those?) that, with enough resources, will get you there.
You can putter away at the DMF at a couple of points per month.
Or, you can put it out of your mind as a goal for the moment, play at whatever skill level you reach through playing, and wait and see what catch-ups 10.2 brings.
If you are following a crafting guide like on WoW-Professions I found out that they were very much inaccurate. You can get to 100 without spending sparks. Check out what recipes were added in 10.1 for you and check in your log what gives skill-ups still. For me, I got my last levels with Master’s Hammer and I am sure there is something you can spam with Tailoring to max out your skill.
With that said, the real grind is knowledge and I highly suggest checking out this Wowhead guide as there are a lot of secret locations for knowledge.
Who is going to want to waste their spark on a R1/R2 item?
Alts, idk. If people put in a public order, they get what they get.
Anyway, we’re all trying to help you, so maybe don’t jump down our throats.
It’s hardly a waste to use Sparks of Ingenuity, last season’s sparks, for levelling up. 15 points an alt is no small thing.
Profession hats - fishing or cooking or something, it’s a pattern from Tuskar renown AFAIK.
If you just want to casually craft AND level a profession, it ain’t happening.
If you have alts, you can have all of them get a bunch of the S1 sparks fairly quickly and use them to submit orders for items.
Or you can go the route I’m going with most professions - just ignoring them.
They are way too grindy and time-throttled, tied to the idiotic order system (I’m not sitting in town barking “Profession LFW” messages), not to mention a lot of items are tied to renown which is another grind I’m not doing more than once.
Asking a question is hardly jumping down anyone’s throat.
I think 1 of my characters may have S1 sparks, I started playing at the end of 10.7 so I’ll have to check.
Guess I will spend the knowledge to learn the profession equip recipes.
Can you still get the s1 sparks?
There are way too many currencies and reagents in this game. How do people keep track?
My alts will now, even if they cant wear leather. Might just have my enchanter do it, just to blow um up for crystals.
If you’ve done the entire questline regarding the sparks once on the account any level 60+ can go over to the engine and just pick up their 5.
Even just gearing up an alt they aren’t the worst thing to use as 395 is better than the 372 BoE greens and you can always recraft them into the s2 spark items later when you start getting those.
I think it’s like 3 actually? Don’t quote me on that. It’s definitely more than 1 though.
i would just suggest you use an alt, get the 5 ingenuity sparks for them from the quest and then use those sparks to craft the items to level main’s tailoring.
Yes, and you can use level 60+ alts.
Maybe… that would reduce the time down to about 17 months if nothing else was done after 50.
I just made spark items for my own personal use.
