Their answer seemed pretty straight forward with “No way to ignore yet.” then following it up with their comments.
Not entirely true, in fact a lot of people get help on these forums with their questions.

You can’t ignore me! 
Blizzard has already spoken on this subject multiple times involving ignoring someone on the forums. They’re working on a fix for it and it’ll be implemented when it can be, but it isn’t a part of the basic function of this forum template they elected to use.
Nice to see blizz still hasn’t implemented this yet.
This character im posting with can use the full on ignore which totally blocks out ignored posters posts.
But my other character Im posting with today doesnt have the option.
Its only level 20 and not as many posts so there seems to be some requirement to be able to ignore.
this character doesnt show the ignore option just the mute.

Need something to ignore necro’d threads
I know this is a necro, but for those wondering;
You have to be trust level 2 to utilize the ignore function, for some wild reason.
If you click on your toon summary and it says “Trust Level: Member” you should be able to go into preferences>users and the option will be there.
It’s only got a maximum of four months though, then you’ll have to re-add the person in question.
I hear not replying to them helps…
Click the poster’s character portrait, choose view activity, in the upper right corner there will be a box that says normal, click that and you’ll get a drop down, the last choice is ignore. Click it and you’ll be asked to select a time limit, max is 2 months.
So does this not work if their profile is hidden? Also, time limit? Seriously? If I have reason to ignore someone, it’s a permanent reason.

Yes, but then what’s the point of ignore even being a feature?
Is it a feature? And what’s the point of having it when you can just ignore something yourself? Tired of getting upset at what someone says because you don’t have the willpower to just not read something?
Because ignoring also keeps you from getting notifications when they reply.
If their profile is hidden you just manually add them to your Ignore list. Go to your own Summary page > Users > Ignored > Add [charname-realm] save.
It does have a permanent Ignore duration now.

You know like, a huge majority of people will just forget and it won’t matter anyway. I’m almost certain that’s the primary reason that’s there, too.
