How do I get the old gun sound back?

I remember downloading/installing something that did it but that was years ago. I have since stopped playing/un-installed the game and now it’s back. Can someone please tell me how to get the original gun sound?

There are sound packs that you can download that you will need to install them yourself, do not let curse auto-install,.

Where can I get them and how do I install them? Thanks for the heads up about curse.

Extract the folder contained in this zip file into your *\World of Warcraft* folder. When the game runs it will substitute any sounds it finds there for equivalent sounds in the game. Do not use the Curse Client Auto-installer . It is a known problem that it does not handle sound mod addons properly.

All seriousness aside, you can hear it 100% with minimal effort in a couple weeks when Classic comes out.

The mod linked is in fact unsupported as of this day, August 17, 2019. You will notice in the instructional video that the old directory structure is used, and not the current structure with \World of Warcraft_retail_ and \World of Warcraft_classic_ folders. Putting the sound folder in retail has no effect. If the downloaded sounds can be made to work then the exact means are not described in the post at curseforge or the linked video.

It been broken

My guys…

I was joking. Honestly it should be as simple as replacing a single file, but idk how that factors into the ToS.

On one hand, you’re modding game files which is a no-no, but on the other you very well could just use the same files that the game already had, meaning it was already sanctioned as an asset explicitly for the sound that your gun makes in the game once before.

Tbh, I’d suggest you’d ask in a support forum about this.
