I’m relatively new (joined in Feb) and really want to get my Garrison, but nobody online really shows how to get it. I did quite a few of the WoD quests, will they eventually take me to setting up my garrison?

yes its like an hr before you go to the garrison.

Finish the introduction scenario and you will have it.

Wasn’t there some kind of underwater cave with a chair in the timeless isles that would skip the WoD intro stuff so you could get the stone faster or am I misremembering
I don’t know if this is available to new players but if you want to skip that pointless and boring scenario, just take the portal to Ashran and fly to where your garrison is. Thrall or Eitrigg will just give you the quest and you can get it in about 5 minutes.
Don’t even need that anymore either.

Do the intro questline for draenor and you’ll get it. If you loose it again somehow then just speak to the inn from your garrison.
Another shortcut is to accept the war board quest or pick WoD through CT.
When the mage ports you to Blasted Lands, drop the quest and don’t talk to Khadgar. Just go through the portal.

There is a simpler skip IMO -
Go to Chromie to get the WoD timeline to take you to the portal. Start going to the portal. BEFORE entering the portal (and even talking to Khadgar) abandoned the quest.
Then once you enter the portal it will take you to the start of the questline for your garrison. Do the cut down trees, kill things, etc quests and you’ll have the Garrison Hearth in under 5 mins without having to do the WoD intro scenario.

Yeah - it is too late for that - I was replying to someone else who mentioned a skip.
But yes! Just go along with the intro quests and it leads you pretty linearly to getting your Garrison stone. Doing it for the first time might take 1-2 hours depending on your speed of things!
