How and what rank can I post gifs and embedded images?
Is there also a way to check your rank and how close you are to the next level? Like some kind of experience bar.

You gotta keep coming back, reading a lot, posting a lot, staying out of trouble, etc.
Eventually you get there.
You can check your current rank, but not your progress.
To check your current rank, just view your “Summary Page”. There’s a “Trust Level” thing there. If it says “regular”, that means you can post pictures.
If it says something else, you’re not there yet.
Just post a lot. I get reported all the time lol
Just keep in mind that if your opinion is slightly off of what current forum clique think is “correct” they gonna jump on you like dogs.

Getting Trust Level 3 is nearly impossible.
It’s something ridiculous like NEVER, I mean, NEVER having an action taken against you, posting like 200 times a week, viewing more than 50 threads a week and that kind of nonsense.
You basically have to live on these forums for them to trust you enough to post the occasional link, which is stupid.
Meanwhile, I’ve been a paying customer since Vanilla, but apparently that doesn’t matter enough to them.

That’d be par for the course in GD. If you mean to troll me to make sure I never get TL3, I’ve already been suspended a couple times over stupid crap before, so I don’t qualify and never will, so don’t bother.
What really annoys me, is that the few people who do have TL3, 90% of the time use it to post useless memes rather than actual helpful content.
But there’ve been times I wanted to post something actually useful but I can’t.

Basically forget about having it if you ever post anything that someone reports you for, because it takes it away. Which on here some just like reporting people for saying hi. So expect it to poof no matter how you behave, just be happy with one less level and be done with it. Less trouble and headache to deal with. Forums are not that important to have status on in posting level.

You do not need to post a lot, the requirement is something like 10 posts in the rolling 100 day period. The main requirement is visiting for 50% of the last 100 days and reading a ton of posts. The reading part is what gets most people, I think.

Just post your links with code blocks. Use the tilde key (the one next to your 1) key to type three ` to start a code block.

- Visited at least 50% of last 100 days
- Replied to at least 10 different topics
- Must have viewed 500 topics
- Must have read 20,000 posts
- Received 20 likes, and given 30 likes.
- No more than 5 spam or offensive flags
- Must not have been suspended

With how people behave here on GD? Pfft.
People will report you for pretty much anything, and the moderators here are way too heavy-handed at times.
And it’s also kinda stupid that there’s no forgiveness period. Got suspended for something 10 years ago? Nope, sorry, no can do.
If the flag is removed by CMs it will not count. Only if they actually remove the post. I also think it is per character, not per account. So if you get banned on one, it might not affect every character.
It is a joke, to highlight the absurdity of forum behavior.
I do not report anyone.
