I don’t get it. My desktop and laptop can play Cyberpunk 2077 or any other game on max settings and laugh at it, and not drop belloww 60 FPS under any conditions, but when I play this game, in certain cities i get like 30-FPS even drops as low as 20 or 17. Is there anything I can disable or tweak to get higher fps?
I’ve heard WoW has shader issues, or some sort of issues which commonly causes lower FPS. I heard disabling or reducing certain graphic settings can greatly increase performance. Is that true?
One moment, let me find the console command.
Edit: here ya go! This is a good post, read it all.
What CPU do you have? WoWs pretty CPU heavy the more players that are on screen. I can literally watch my CPU utilization go up and GPU go down based on how many people are around. Im CPU bound with a 13900k (4090 GPU).
Try the directX11 or directX11 Legacy modes, turn all the settings to off or low, spell visuals to essential. view distance to like 2-3, clutter etc to 0/1
Check your computer settings, defrag, delete old stuff you dont need to clear up space, allow WoW as an exception through your antivirus program, move to a SSD.
There should be some guides online but dont buy or download anything new, most of the time these guides push some kind of program on you that you dont need. Check youtube too.
How do I do that? Do I type that in /say
?

Yep, just type that into your chat box. I’d copy/paste it.

Is that bad?
-Disabling ‘multi sample alpha test’ in the ingame graphics settings. It can cause framerates to tank, even with a good graphics card. I have a 3080, and disabling this easily boosted my fps by 30. I noticed no difference in the quality of my graphics afterwards.
-Disabling the “root enumerator” in your windows settings. You can Google how to do this. It’s a rarely known fix in general, but disabling this eliminated alot of the choppy stuttering I had in graphically intensive areas.
-Enabling g sync in Nvidia’s control panel.
-Using the option “no scaling” in the Adjust Desktop Size & Position tab of Nividia’s control panel. On that page, there will be options such as aspect ratio scaling, no scaling etc. Make sure to select no scaling.
- Using the following console command smoothed out my frames even further. It clears any issues your WoW account has with loading shading assets, which can boost your FPS tremendously. Type this ingame and press enter:
/console GxAllowCachelessShaderMode 0
After that, type this as well and hit enter:
/console gxRestart
I got nothing in return when I used the command, so I’m not sure what that means. I might suggest the tech support forum. Maybe the command doesn’t work anymore?
Thank you for this.
I got nothing in return when I used the command
If you mean the gfxshader 0 command then it actually doesn’t say anything when you type it. Which makes it confusing but it does still work
Right. Thus, my confusion on why Ravenhul got all of that back in response after they used it.
my confusion
It still works
I think you’re missing my point. lol
My response to Ravehul was because he got all of this back after he used the command. So something is messed up.

It does to the best of my knowledge
And ok, yeah I don’t get that message either
sighs
I give up. lol
I’m trying to figure out why Ravenhul got those messages. Thanks for reiterating three times it works, but that doesn’t address the issue.

Oop! Edit! Yeah, that’s the weird part. lol
