How do I get better?

Do I need to just play more games? It’s so demoralizing when you lose a couple of games and the healer from pugging just leaves. The highest i got so far from arenas was 1400 as a sin rogue who got carried by a frost mage. I can’t even break 1k as a demo lock however lol.

I really want the transmog so any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Try to find someone IRL is your best bet in this stage of the game. Not too many people starting arena that haven’t been playing years at this point.

Play, alot.

Identify where you can improve (key bindings, macros, positioning, game knowledge, anticipating plays, awareness, communication) and focus on improving items one at a time with practice.

If you have trouble identifying your weak points try recording a few of your games and watching them later.

You can also watch some high end players and see how they handle certain situations, and why, and practice a few of their “plays”.

get a friend into arena

raid friend or something someone who doenst even have pvp experience and learn together

pugging is gonna make you bitter every 1500 lazerus type rat player has 0 patience and believes they’re INSANE but they lose because of their partners so they’re quick to just insta leave

if pugging is your only option AND you’re minimally xp’d you’ll have to play super meta comps
ditch demo it’s not good until you can reliably make up for how undertuned the spec is with good partners and personal skill

play destro, find a spriest or wwmonk or ele shaman and an rdruid

then just spam games, figure out what is hard for you and whats easy and then you’ll be able to start playing fluidly
also get addons

watching streams is probably the quickest way to learn

ya rogue is easy mode. Much harder with any other class

As you can see on my profile, I have no exp in Arena either. If you’d like to learn together Obejuan#1676

Focus on mechanics, rotation and bindings.

Perfect pve rotation, bind abilities to the left of H on keyboard. Look up focus target macros and use shift alt Ctrl modifiers. Begin binding target one two and three and focus one two and three. Examples would be alt 123 for target zxc for focus 123.

Mechanics - watch streams for your class, learn other class major abilities. When watching streams pay attention to how top players combat these abilities. Example paladin hoj is 45 seconds mage usually polymorphs off that therefore you want to coil at the same time as hoj to prevent their control of your team.

Finally, once you have gotten the basics of those three down, I suggest you attempt to play the best composition for your class and spec available Learn one to two comps well and then once comfortable Branch out from there.

Lastly, always look inward before blaming the game or your partners. Give suggestions and improvements as you go. I cannot stress this enough when playing this game.

Some classes only have one comp in certain brackets that are viable past a certain rating.

Streams for lock/rogue pov:
Warlock:
Dakkroth
Maldiva

Rogue:
Whaazz
Pikaboo
psherotv
2v2 mechanically pshero will provide non flashy play to learn from.

Hey I won’t be able to play till the end of May. Is that ok?

Become really good at Dpsing, ideally become a Mythic raider. Transfer your orange parses and PvE gear into PvP. Enjoy glad, actually srs m8

Does gear really make that much of a difference lol? Brb spamming mythic +’s

it makes a huge difference most of the people who got low glad in S1 had the “famed slayer of ghuun” title i qued into PvE heros constantly

The key is knowing when to press Maledict.

hes not trolling
he transferred green and blue parses
(the colors of the enchants he couldnt get in awful but even better skillcap xpacs)
into 2400 bfa glad

This is a lie

If you can’t play until May. I suggest watching some videos on YouTube. Stoopz has some great guides and MUST have add-ons that will help your awareness. Which in turn makes you a better player. Alllllllll comes down to awareness.

Also. Try joining a guild. Be friendly with people in g chat. Ask if anyone wants to learn arena together. People are alot less likely to shoot off or anything with a guildie.

Keep asking questions. This is the first step in actually getting better.

Yeah I don’t care, I’m still trying to figure this out. I got into some games with someone wanting to cap.

Aside from that, as long as you have keybinds and don’t key turn I think we can learn together no problem

Play a healer just for kicks and learn what the healer is seeing in the current state of the game. Than you will understand why they are leaving. Having a dps partner just mongo the healer and wasting defensive cooldowns at the wrong time. Tanking offensive cooldowns from the opposing team. Best of luck out there finding a healer.

Talk to someone like me who can give you demo tips and is not toxic =)

Watch streams, identify what you can get better at, que games, and when you start getting rating dont be afarid to keep queing.
