Ever since the professions update with Dragonflight made it so you cant put fishing poles in your paper doll slots my fishing artifact hasnt worked. I’ve put it in the slot for fishing equipment but when I go in the water I find myself not being a shark. How do I equip a fishing pole?

Fishing pole…is that what we are calling it now?
I think the act of fishing itself is what kicks in any perks your rod has.

You put the pole in the fishing profession window.
Talk to the little Tauren sitting next to the tailoring trainer, i forget her name. Be sure to set fishing gear to be seen when used.
Go to a fishing spot and cast once, now you can water walk and fish swim with the legion legendary pole.

Just fish once with it equipped. It equips your fishing gear like it does with your other professions when creating.
Then you can walk on the water and swim like a fishy with your artifact fishing pole.
I had the same issue. The pole does more than fishing… so I figured out a workaround. Buy any other fishing pole and equip it, the legion pole will reappear in your inventory, then equip the legion pole and your fishing powers will be restored.
Aquaman needs a trident.

Thank you! I’ve being going crazy trying to figure out how to bait my fishing pole. For me, I went to “professions” , clicked on “Fishing Journal” then in the upper right corner I can finally see my equipped fishing pole. I clicked the bait, then clicked the pole icon in the upper right, and it worked!
